Not sure if this was discussed elsewhere, but it looks like we got a wide receiver from Nevada. Looked him up and the kid is fast... and when I say fast I mean really freaking fast. He won the CIF 100 meters 3 consecutive years.
Not only is he fast, he is the fastest Aggie ever in my memory. A 10.6 is NFL top 10 fast. I saw that he was a RS at NR. Does that means he’s OK for next year? Remember Renaldo Nehemiah? He did a WR 12.93 in the 110 meter HH. 49ers drafted him as a WR and he was OK mostly because he would make the D always put double coverage on him because of his speed. But he did catch some passes. Hopefully, Theo will do great as an Aggie.
Goodwin is listed as a sophomore according to the Aggie 2019 football roster. He redshirted in 2017 at UNR and played against Portland State in the Wolfpack's 2018 opener. I would guess that he'll have to sit out a year since he did play in 2018.
You have to love this statement in his bio: "Spent some time growing up in Alaska and ran from a bear once, has been fast ever since."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tInRkQFC3BI (the play at 0:30 reminds me of some of the big plays we're used to giving up in recent years; turns on the jets at the 40 yard line)
That's him. I liked the play where he rolled out left and threw a TD pass. He's a lefty and with the kind of speed he has he could throw the pass if the receiver is open or tuck it in and turn on the jets.
So..., Given that he looks very impressive in high school, why hasn’t he got on the stat sheet at Nevada? 4.39 40. 10.6 100 meters. 6ft tall. Caught 60 passes in high school and returned kicks. .Surely he should get a reception or return kicks at Nevada to generate a stat. Like BlueGoldAg, I wonder if he had some injury.
I see he only participated in the one game. So if he had an injury of some sort he could have four more years. If he was injured I hope he’s fully recovered.
that's true, but he has already redshirted his freshman year. we used several players last years in the first 3 games and didn't burn their eligibility. used the one Frosh WR in the EWU playoff game (only appearance), and he'll still be a frosh.
But given the easy requirements for a sixth year of eligibility, playing in less than one third of games if injured or other hardship, there is a follow up question of: why he only played in one game last year? Injury or coaches decision? He apparently played in only the first game.
