Get ready for a run on WR in the 2nd Round, which, depending on the frenzy will vault guys like Keelan Doss to a higher draft position. Would be a little crazy to think late 3rd Round (tonight), but 4th and 5th could be a real possibility.
I see that N'Keal Harry of ASU went in the first round. I mention this because i saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak_o-aPAUkA in which two clear experts compare Keelan to N'Keal Harry. Sooooo, clearly Doss goes soon, right? :grimace:
WR goes first pick of Round 4, some "top" prospects still available, but there is always room for late round WRs to all teams, it's a passing League.
Daniel Jeremiah just mentioned Doss from UC Davis...getting to the back end of Round 4, WR Riley Ridley just went...Doss is atop the WR rankings for those still out there for DJ at this point...who wants him? Raiders have two picks coming up after a trade down in Round 4.
NIners have three 6th Round picks, two in the upper 10 of the 6th Round. Have already drafted WRs Deebo Samuel (South Carolina) and Jalen Hurd (Baylor), Samuel is a burner/playmaker, Hurd is a 6'-5" jumpballer and red zone target.
Feels like Keelan will get his shot outside of the Bay Area and Las Vegas.
It's ESPN, they've been hack for about 5 years now (ie, paid by larger programs to push/hype their players). Switch to NFL Network if you have it. Daniel Jeremiah has Doss much higher.
Colts just went WR with EJ Speed (great name) out of little Tarleton State!
He might make more money as an UDFA, assuming there's a small bidding war...or maybe we're just being delusional to how hard it is to make an impression with NFL teams when you come from a small school and don't run 4.2.
South Dakota State CB Jordan Brown just got drafted by the Bengals.
Darryl Johnson EDGE NC A&T drafted by Buffalo.
James Madison CB Jimmy Moreland just got drafted by the Washington.
Raiders go EDGE Quinton Bell Prairie View A&M
I'm thinking AggieFinn is right, we were delusional. You can be one of the most productive receivers in all of D1 with no obvious down sides but it doesn't mean anything if you're not in FBS, apparently.
In fairness to us though, I can't remember any projections that had him undrafted. It's not like we were ignoring evidence in front of us.
So what does “signing as a free agent” really mean? He’s on the payroll but must earn a place on the team? According to the graphic above a free agent is making more then a drafted rookie.
