The Aggies finally broke into the winning column with their win over Washington State 75-62 on last Sunday and now return the the friendly confines of the Pavilion today to take on the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah at 5 pm.
Prior to the WSU win the Aggies have been struggling with poor shooting, turnovers and an overall lack of consistency on either end of the floor. Morgan Bertsch poured in 34 points against the Cougars and the Ags took care of the ball much better and had only 11 for the game. Offensively the Aggies are not shooting well though at only 35% overall and a paltry 28% from 3. They have also been out rebounded by an average of 7.2 rpg and are turning the ball over at a rate of 18 TO's per game. Jen Gross will be hoping to see improvement in all of these numbers today.
Yup. Coach got a chance to play with the lineups, everybody on the team got some game time, and it wasn't so perfect a game that the team won't have plenty to work on.
Great game. Watched the entire game. Problem: everyone trying too hard. Pressing too hard on offense; trying to make it like last year which it will not be. I did like the solid work from newcomer Sage. Gals just have to settle down a bit; be cool and the wins will come. We have the solid makings of a very good team. It will take time.
