I think Modise is a bit too anxious top return kickoffs. If you fair catch topi get it in 25. Most returns I have seen are < = 25 yard line plus there is the possibility of holding penalty. I think the odds are just talke the 25 unless you field it field the 10 or outside.
Well, it looks like we're just going to have to hang our hat on JSU-KSU and the fact that 8 Colgate lost to an FBS squad by 14 (Army). It doesn't look like much help besides the final margin in Reno.
We had 450 yards at the half! I know sac had a bunch of injuries but the downfall in talent from last year was stunning. They didn’t have receivers that scared you, and that’s a big change from the past. Thomson was okay, but not like last year (probably not fully healed so hats off to getting out there today)
I had heard we sat 6 defensive starters/contributors with injury and we still stopped them. The big frosh NG played for his 5th game because of injury problems. And they still didn’t run very well.
Very happy for Doss. Very happy for Hicks. TD and huge fake punt. From starting FB under Gould to special teams, blocking TE. And was a leader of this team. Oh
Yeah, heading to Vet school next year. CJ Spenser is another. Check his major! Passed up in the QB ranking, and just contributed to making this a championship team.
I think Brock Dale set the standard last year. He was returning #1, passed by with Maier and he was a leader. Didn’t sulk. I was out for a couple practices last year and he was the most vocal and supportive guy out there. Other players notice that.
I have had a great time this season. Today was great. Roadie to Montana unbelievable. Big Sky champs? Incredible. And we are still putting real students and quality kids out there.
Awesome. The defensive stats looked eskew, players sitting a likely explanation. ... Vet school supposedly tougher to get into than med school!
Interesting also that Modise got carries before Thomas.
Watched via Pluto. Decent broadcast. Missed 3rd quarter, then heard the color man go on and on about his NFL and college experiences. Ugh. They tried to soften the loss for Sac, understandable, but I didn't hear much about Hawkins and his rebuilding program, staff, recruiting haul, or new athletic facility.
The guy is actually quite charismatic in a very down home way. Is this what the players like about him?
Great that he throws out so much credit to others and does not aggrandize himself. Even Coach Gould. How could anyone not love this guy?
Hawk has reached a point of wisdom and humility in his life that he doesn't need to stroke his own ego. He is one of those rare coaches who really does transcend the wins and loses for the welfare of his players and teaches them to carry on for the better good of others in their lives beyond football. He is an ultimate Aggie.
Yeah we were stopped by several people aware of the game. Several asked if it was ‘okay’ and if we were treated well. Yes and yes.
We lucked out that SJSU did not want to give up the home game, else our fall back plan would fallen through. The fact that UNR had planned for a possible game allowed this to happen
