The punting worries early on are a non factor now, thankfully. Hope it keeps up

Kicking has been solid, punts, FG and kickoffs. Coverage teams have been good. Return game was shaky last week, hopefully a one-time thing

To your point DrMike, here are Aggies FCS special team rankings (125 teams):

-KO return defense, 4th
-FG%, 28th
-net punting, 28th
-punt return defense, 74th

As for return game:
-KO return, 49th
-punt return, 90th

Kicking game was stellar vs Suc State. Will need to keep this up in playoffs and avoid the big return that can change momentum instantly. And must hold onto ball in return game.

KO return usually gave us good position. We did have one key fumble (ISU), and a couple goofs, but solid. Surprised at the Punt return defense since I don’t remember many returns of substance against us.

What bothered me Saturday were the penalties on returns; constantly started in a hole. One muffed punt (on a weird knuckle ball), and a near fumble in opening kickoff. Sloppy. I bet we didn’t get much ST practice in the smoke/indoors. Hopefully chalk it up to that
