"For the Denver Broncos, special teams was really bad last season. One of the many upgrades that they made was signing former Oakland Raiders punter Marquette King. During the preseason and in training camp, he looked phenomenal. So, why did the Denver Broncos sign a punter named Colby Wadman?
That has been quite the developing story around Dove Valley on Tuesday. Six days away from the Monday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs and there is an eye raising move. The team signed former UC-Davis punter Colby Wadman to the practice squad. To make room on the practice squad, the team released defensive lineman Niles Scott.
Wadman is a former undrafted rookie who went the entire 2017 season without playing. The Oakland Raiders brought him on board in March. But he ended up being released less than two months later."
this is great news. Hopefully he earns himself a spot with Denver, and if not, perhaps another team. Saw Colton Schmidt was cut by Buffalo before the start of the season. Did he ever land with another team?
At least the one consolation from our dark years featuring anemic offenses was plenty of playing time for our punters. Ironically, our punting game has seen a huge drop off from the days of Schmidt/Wadman but now we don't need to punt as often.
