Note: UCD raised $230 million last year, with an 8-percent increase in the number of gifts. “What we did not have this year that I’m hoping we get next year,” May said, “is some of the big figure gifts, some of the eight-figure and above gifts.” He explained that when there’s a leadership transition, some donors wait to see “what the new leaders are going to do and how they’re going to be able to develop a rapport.” He is confident he’s on the right track with Aggie donors.
