Thanks CA Forever - admittedly this is easily the subject as it relates to UCD football and the FCS that I know the least about and dont follow it as closely. I learned a lot today.

I'm no expert. I just follow twitter and the recruiting sites and compile it here.

Kind of strange that Davis hasn't put out any mention of Peterson's signing yet? I've found other stories on twitter about him signing this morning. Those stories also confirm him to be playing WR. 3 WRs and 3 TEs.

I wonder if some of these TE's might end up playing some other positions. Seems like we have a bumper crop of TE's.

ref: All-Conf DE Nolan de Graaff, had a big senior year with the switch...and an even better post-graduate set of years, he's a CEO now I believe in AZ.

Well I know a lot of TEs also played like DE in high school but you would think that we would have just recruited them as DEs if that was the case. The announcement tweet specifically have them at TE. I suppose it was one of the thinner positions we had. 2/4 TEs that were on our roster last season are going to be seniors this next year.

QB Jeff Widener signed with Northern Arizona. He looked like a very strong passer. That being said, I'm not too broken up about it since we got Hastings and Tompkins.

Official release on the players we signed today. Peterson not included, that leads me to believe that he signed a letter of intent as a preferred walk-on which some players do. That being said, there are wonky rules about teams being able to officially announce them as part of the team if they are a PWO.

Question: this is second year of early signing. How many signed last year at early signing Point vs in Feb? Anyone know?

I would have to go back and look at last year's thread to look at the breakdown, but a lot of the recruiting twitter accounts I follow basically say that the early signing date has become the standard signing date and the February date has basically become a supplementary signing date. That being said it is going to vary greatly from team to team based on how many scholarship spots they need to fill. I think NDSU signed 25 today... Sac State signed 2.

I think 2/3 today, 1/3 in Feb.
