"And the biggest plays were the blocked punts, both by junior starting safety Ryan Parenteau.

"Just a good scheme by (special teams) coach (Paul) Creighton," Parenteau said. "The first time they (the Vikings) didn't see it coming. The second time, they just weren't ready for us."

The blocks "were huge," Hawkins said. "Typically, if you have a punt blocked, you're going to lose 70 percent of the time."
