MOSCOW, Idaho - Tim Plough has been UC Davis head football coach for 24 games as he goes deep into his second season as Aggie boss.
In that time he’s had a number of highs and several lows, but after the Aggies dismantled the Idaho Vandals, 28-14, Saturday in the iconic Kibbie Dome, Plough couldn’t contain his enthusiasm for the game he had just witnessed.
“Of those 24 games, this is by far the best win we’ve had,” Plough enthused.
“Last week (a 38-36 loss to Idaho State) was the worst loss I’ve experienced and to see how our players and coaches bounced back after that was a great Aggie Pride moment.”
“I think with this win we showed we should be in playoff contention,” Plough added, as he looks ahead to the battle in Bozeman and the regular season finale November 22 at home against Sacramento State.
“It wasn’t perfect, but getting that early lead was great for our confidence,” added Plough.
“Our defense had a great plan and they bent, but didn’t break.”
