Unless multiple opposing team websites are wrong or baseball players all suddenly have perfect night vision it would appear that UCD will finally play under lights in 2025 !!!!! While the schedule isn't out yet some opponents have released theirs, and they show some evening start times in Davis.
I have not been to campus since the 2024 season ended, so I haven't seen any lights for myself.
Here is what is out so far-
Feb 14-16 Gonzaga (opening game at 6pm)
Feb 28-Mar 2 @Utah Valley (yeah that'll happen)
Mar 7-9 @Creighton. The Bluejays play at TD Amerirade Park in Omaha, home of the College World Series.
Apr 11-13 UC Irvine
Apr 21 @Stanford
Apr 23 Washington State (6 pm game)
Apr 25-27 Cal State Fullerton (1st two games at 6pm)
May 2-4 @Long Beach State
May 13 Utah Tech (7 pm)
Another change this year is the Big West Tournament happening May 23-25. Only the top 5 teams get in, so the Aggies' season will end a week earlier than usual unless they significantly improve in conference.
I totally missed this, but former Aggie C/OF Tyler La Torre is the new head coach at Pepperdine. He'll likely make a lot more there than he did as a minor league baseball player.
Just some thoughts on TD Ameritrade Park. I've seen it on TV several times during the CWS, and it seems ather bland and lacking in personality. Everything looks modern but it's basically Generic Convention Center Ballpark USA
By contrast San Jose State shares city-owned Municipal Stadium with the Single-A Giants, and it's clear the Giants have made it theirs. Giants crap everywhere.
This is probably due to TD Ameritrade Park being marketed as a neutral event venue. Creighton seems to be more like an office space tenant. You'd barely know they played there. Even the Triple-A Omaha Storm Chasers don't play there. A big, mostly empty venue but for about two weeks a year. I hope the Nebraska taxpayers didn't foot a lot of the construction costs.
I have read that the old Rosenblatt Stadium is still in operation, but it's been turned into a park for kids.
