Maybe our defense having practiced against LL and Fisher will be a little more prepared than a typical defense. We can hope.

Watching the size and speed of the MSU running backs, I don't think it's a.great comparison in terms of dealing with the same force load. LL and Fisher both have incredible balance and are complete catching it out of the backfield...these guys are bigger and are heavier to deal with at the point of attack. Oh, and you have to shed their OL and TE group who are big and physical. It will be a war of attrition Saturday. With MSU and the Aggies looking for knockout blows in the second half. Feels like Ali vs. Foreman in Zaire to me..and Big George is going to be pounding our guts for the first three quarters, but can Davis respond, and can Davis limit the big play and keep it close?

Such a great interview with Jake! I only had time to listen to Jake so far but will tune in for the rest later. You guys continue to hit it out of the park. Man, the excitement is building up fast!

I listened to that game on the radio while I painted my first son’s room. He was a month old (also he was downstairs haha) . Core memory! That was a fun W for sure. Before streaming.

In 2005 one of the all time MSU great QB's Travis Lulay had graduated. We went into the season with a lot of transfers and pretty much not knowing what we had. Our first game we beat FBS Colorado under new head coach Dan Hawkins (who you know). Our second game we came home and lost to DII Chadron State on the legs of future NFL star Danny Woodhead. Our third game was the loss to UC Davis. Then we rattled off 6 straight wins followed by a loss in Missoula. We made the playoffs and had our first playoff win in many years and followed it up with a loss to Appalachia State who went on to win it all that year.
We had a lot of off field problems and the coach was fired.
Like I said that year was a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Many seem to have forgotten how good Davis was in the 2005 and 2006 transition despite both were 6-5
2005 Loss to Number 7 New Hampshire 17-13, beat Stanford, which was 4-4 in the Pac 10, 17th ranked N. Dakota State, 10th Ranked Cal Poly
2006 Beat #20 Montana State 45-0, but lost to 3 top 10 FCS teams, all on the road, plus South Dakota State and TCU.

So far, this game is receiving the overwhelming number of votes for FCS Game of the Week over on the AST Forum. Right now, the game has received 28 of the 32 votes that have been cast which equals 87.5% of the votes.

So, for a second week in a row, all eyes are on an Aggie game which goes to show just how much attention the Aggies are getting this year and just how much national publicity the team is generating for the university. This is a great example of how college athletics can help draw additional attention to the university as a whole in addition to the university's highly regarded academic reputation.

The AST Forum has been around for very long time and there are a lot of very knowledgeable members on it who follow the FCS closely. It's free and easy to join so, if you are interested, here's a link for the forum:

Agree with all your thoughts. And Ian Simpson has been a big addition. I believe he has been injured and out until EWU then out (probably to heal more and not needed) against Northern Colorado. He is very physical which is needed when playing against the better teams.

I watched someone on a little fishing boat with a motor sailing over putah creek this week and was very suprised… it was metal though so no burning of that boa

Had no idea it was that strategy, but makes sense now that you mention it. That would explain why he looked so spry on the sidelines that game when I saw him on TV.

Greetings. My wife (indulges my Aggie football passion) and I attended the game in Bozeman in 2022 - sort of a destination trip from North Carolina. Fans were nice and even had a guy named Kevin (I think a bobcat Nation board moderator?) offer me free tickets when Vivid seats waited until the last minute to release mine. Met him at the tailgate at his RV and gave him a sleeve of CA logo golf balls and a NC State shot glass as a token of appreciation of his offer. Chambers had a stellar game then and the Cats pulled away.

The Riden’ with Ryder featuring former coach Mike Rider is a good one to listen to, Rider is really impressed with Davis. He makes an observation about corner backs being really hard to find at any level and in FCS they often sacrifice size, and he wonders how Davis got its corners who he thought were exceptional. Interesting because that is not much commented on.
Colter Nuanez gets the Connors family confused thinking their was an older brother Connors and I’m not sure he knows Porter and Rex are twins..

Colter Nuanez interview with coach Plough. I think the second or third he has had with him.

Do we want to slow it down and go heavy ground, keeping their backs off the field? Pound LL, Perez, and Fisher and keep our D rested?

Interesting fact gleaned from this interview is during the week, Plough coaches the scout offense against the defense, and let the offensive coaches put in the game plan with the #1 offense, He says he does that to foster the perception that he is the head coach of the whole team, and is not just the offensive coach.

I think the play is to try to score and get a lead, which will make them move away from running as much. As usual Davis will play situational football and run more with a lead.

It will be LL and MP pounding the rock and grinding it out. If MS can stop it all power to them, but in the end I do not think they will consistently be able to do it. Especially in the third and fourth quarter. DLs just don’t have the stamina to do this.

Montana State is going to run it, and run it a lot...and it will be grind slowing them down, period, because they're going to have some, if not a lot of success doing it. The key to me is if the Aggies can force a few turnovers.

That's always a bonus. Our Offensive line jelling is so key. If we can move the ball two ways, and slow down their RBs.

What an exciting game and challenge. Biggest home game in the DI era? A victory Saturday sets us up to go deep into winter.

I took a peak at Toyota Stadium in Call it Frisco, Texas. Seats about 20K, soccer-specific stadium surrounded by 16-18 soccer fields. Concert stage in one end zone. Last month the city approved a $182 million upgrade and expansion which will add 4-5,000 seats, a roof structure, and various amenities.
