Not sure if anyone has been following his year but he is balling out at Vanderbilt. Their leading scorer, but they are 8-20…
Can’t blame him for going to the big leagues but imagine how our team would be doing.
1) Ezra
2) TY
3) Pepper
4) Milling/Ade
5) Niko
Adding that one spot with Ezra would free up pepper immensely. In addition we’d have 3 player who could score on their own which shifts Milling to a 3pt specialist…
Bummed he moved on, feels like the last piece we would need to make serious noise this year.
I've watched Ezra a few times in the past 2 years when Vandy has been playing on a nationally televised game. He's continued to grow and excel against top tier teams in the SEC. I was bummed when he left but he has certainly shown that he has talent to play at the top level of college basketball. Many players, who are lured away by the bright lights of playing on a bigger stage, end up riding the bench more than playing. That's not been the case with Ezra.
An Aggie lineup with Manjon, Pepper, Johnson on the floor at the same time would have been amazing. Can you imagine teams trying to slow down all 3 of those players at once? It would have been a nightmare for our opponents!
Who was that other guy about five years ago that initially committed to UC Davis but switched to a powerhouse basketball team after his summer basketball team won the "peaches" tournament?
Kihei Clark, a 5'9 PG out of Woodland Hills, originally committed to the Aggies 2018 and then switched to Virgina. Virginia went on to win the 2019 National Championship in his freshman year. He played in all 38 of their games (35-3) and started in 20 of them including the national championship game.
