I had always held out hope that The Grad might rise like a phoenix in The Commons downtown, and occupy the old Whole Foods location.

I remember when that was Pluto's, freshest, heartiest food in the City at the time IMO.

Seems like the Davis Commons is jinxed. Most businesses just cannot make it there: Borders, Whole Foods, Habit Burger, Plutos and Gap. Numerous other retail stores all failed. I realize davis people don’t like chains, but this is ridiculous. I wonder why the new University mall owners think they can pull it off there. Does anyone know what they have in mind tenant wise?

Well, it's right off of downtown, in that horrible undercrossing off of 80, it's a decent walk to get across the bridge and get there. Seems like a relatively dead area - though they've got that housing, and frat row that runs to the west, lots of bike traffic, kids just trying to get home on the other side of 80 - just think it's not the most prime spot. Actually, that Whole Foods wasn't a bad inclusion - but even that didn't last. I honestly just miss being able to go to Pluto's ha ha. Looks like they've got a lot of Asian food joints there now, so that's good. Just open a place there that sells alcohol - it'll do just fine.

Plough gives a talk on his upbringing, history with football, relationships with Bob Biggs and Jim Sochor...and the importance of being in Davis.

Nice video. Apparently part one of a series.
Davis has rare continuity of the football program for 50+ years, I hope Plough has enough success to stay here a long time.
The test for Plough is to show he can have a productive offense without a pro level QB, which had as an offensive coordinator at NAU and his last stop here. He went to Boise before the Hunter Rodigues, Hastings, Tompkins year. What would he have done with that crew in 2021? Not that the 2021 spring and fall team was bad, the Tulsa game was amazing, but it was a different offense adapted to the personnel.

Not that I would expect a head coach to actively state differently, but I love how he said he's here to stay. Here's hoping to for a lot of success with the return to Shredville!

Wonderful video! I can't wait to see where Plough takes this team this fall and in the future.
