I believe he is the first player from the Vaughn era (2012-2021) to make the majors. Tanner Murray also has a decent shot (made it to Triple-A this year and a career batting average above .300). If he does that would give Vaughn more former MLB alumni than his mentor Phil Swimley (Steve Brown). To be fair Swimley coached during the D-II era when few players were drafted. These days with analytics it matters a lot less what division you're in.
And after 1 appearance with the Marlins they waived him and the Washington Nationals picked him up. MLB is harsh. At least he appeared in a game before he was waived. That one UCD football player wasn't so lucky
