Even though all 11 teams are eligible, the tournament will have the same schedule, with the last place team being disqualified. A major objective might seem to be for the Ags to avoid the play-in, which should not be hard to do given the current standings. Given that the top four teams are about equally tough, though, a fifth or sixth seed would be a challenge against the third or fourth seed. If the current standings continue we'd play Hawai'i, which might be the "easiest." Getting the fourth seed would probably give us the same match-up. Ideally, we would get one of the top tow seeds and play one of the lower tier teams, but that is starting to look doubtful. So at this point, the best place for us to get would be third seed and a likely match vs. Fullerton or the Beach.
This is from UCSD's website: "The Big West Board of Directors approved the submission of a waiver to the NCAA that, if approved, would allow UC San Diego to participate in NCAA Championships beginning this fall should the Tritons earn The Big West automatic bid in applicable sports. In addition, the conference approved UC San Diego to be included in the men's basketball standings beginning this season."
