The difference is that cal has made big plays and Aggies have not. There doesn’t seem to be an ability to stretch the field. That was a problem the second half of last year too.
Hastings was making good reads on the first couple of drives and then started throwing some errant passes and was frankly lucky to come out of the half without an INT. Game would be looking different if King had brought in that INT which probably would have gone for 6. The offensive line has looked pretty solid at least!
Ags got off to a good start, but commentators pointed out that their edge in experience helped them get the lead. Cal's got too much talent, especially that freshman running back, Ott, who was a one man wrecking crew for the Bears once he got into the game. Ags need to figure out how to contain him to have a chance.
Cal is shredding the Aggie defense now...we look gassed and Cal is rolling now. This could get ugly in the second half.
Missed opportunities by the Aggies have really hurt: 3rd on 1 deep in Cal territory after our INT and we come away with no points after turning the ball over on downs. Then the missed INT that led to a 37 yard gain by Cal and another score.
if I recalled correctly, this is the most talented roster Hawks have, right? If Ott can do, so does Guiliam Jr ( but Hawks has no problem having Hasting rolls to his right and throw to sideline )
