The women's roster has finally been posted. The coaching staff has really revamped the team this year with some exciting new recruits and transfers. Two players have left the team also: Marley Langi who transferred to Skyline College and Kenedy Lilly.

I was wondering about Kenedy--didn't see her in the Facebook photos.

I was not surprised to see that Langi transferred. She came to the Ags as a highly regarded recruit out of HS but never seemed find her game with the Aggies, and when she was on the floor, it just didn't look like she was ready to play with the energy and determination that it takes to play at this level. I hope she does well at the Juco level. She may be able to develop more there and then move up again.

Yeah I saw the pictures from when they went to the Giants game and Lilly was missing. Didn't notice Langi was gone, but as BGA said, not really a surprise.

Very interested in seeing Sabel and Sussman play. Both bring a substantial amount of experience so should be able to contribute right away (we'll need them to). We also seem to have gotten quite a bit shorter (not saying that's a bad thing). Gone are Lilly (6'5"), Langi (6'0"), Stobart (6'3"), Konrad (6'0"), and Hall (6'0"). All the new players are listed under 6'0". We'll see how the rebounding/defense stacks up, but perhaps we get better shooting from the outside.

I loved the way Lilly looked on paper, but she really didn’t perform that well on the floor. Her HS stats were off the sheets, but you have to be really tough to play in this league. In WBB getting the rebound is much more about will and toughness than a few inches of height. She sadly didn’t have that.

After a real down season, it'll be good to have some new faces to root for. Sussman, Epps, Sabel, Baker, and Norris. Rock out Ags!

Former Aggie great, Pele Giannoti, has been hired as an assistant coach for the Aggies.

UC Davis Women's Basketball head coach Jennifer Gross has named Pele Gianotti as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 season. Gianotti, one of the best to ever suit up for the Aggies, most recently played professionally overseas the last four years.

The Turkey Tip-Off at UOP is a bit unusual. Only three teams; UCD, UOP and Wyoming. UOP vs. Wyoming on Friday, UCD vs Wyoming on Saturday and UOP vs UCD on Sunday.

I know we have a lot of holes to fill, but 5 seems pretty low. I was thinking 2 or 3 (not that it matters). Team has a lot to prove.

Yeah, that was my initial reaction too given that last year's team went to OT in the semis. That said, last year was a bit of a grind, and it's kind of a new look team (particularly in the front court!), so...fair, I suppose.

(If you look at the actual voted point totals, too, 3 through 5 are basically tied.)

I guess Coach Gross finally gets to use the "us against the world" motivation speech.

I want pictures of Jenn, Joe, Stephanie and Matt sinking a half court shot!! This activity at the end of practice is one of fun parts of watching the Aggies in action..

In other Big West news, Lily Wahinekapu transferred from Fullerton to Hawaii. Averaged 15ppg as a freshman last year.

No way ? Lily Wahinekapu is going to play for the Rainbow Wahine ? I'm looking forward to when some guy named Davis Aggiesevich transfers to UCD.

Tales from the Elementary School Pick-up Line: no scouting report, but my 3rd grader did get a basketball clinic from Coach Jen and a few of the players on Friday during his PE period. :cool:
