I have been on the Sac State campus several times recently. Not much going on and a good place to get in a walk, a bike ride, or to exercise the dog.

    A couple of observations:
    1. It appears they are re-sodding their soccer pitch. An optimistic sign. They are also cutting the rugby pitch section of their IM field like it was a green at Pebble Beach. VERY short.
    2. Unfortunate timing, but they built a beach volleyball court on campus. It is located at the western end of their tennis courts, near the home plate corner of the softball field. Has to be better than using a public park up in Folsom.

I know a guy who does some contracting and says he has a current project at Sac State. He wondered if they would still be working with all that has gone on, but was told in essence, 'Do it while the job's approved and we still have it budgeted.'

And they have a coyote or two in residence.

Well, a coyote can really do a job on a hornet. Even the new murder hornets. Which asks the question: will sac change it name to the vastly more intimidating species: “The Murder Hornets?” Maybe not a good move in the current climate. Better name though. . . .
