And I think most of us would agree. One of the comments the article makes about Hayden Fry of Iowa is how many of his assistants went on to coaching jobs elsewhere. Same could be said of Sochor. Oregon should send Davis a royalty payment every year.
Hard to understand how Belotti DIDN'T make the list. He brought Oregon to national significance.
At the Team Aggie basketball pregame, AgAlum and I were sitting with some long time football folk. Pete's name came up with regard to his stepping down, and everybody at the table gushed about him as a coach and person. Then, another top 150 coach, Chris Ault, was brought up. Not a whole bunch of positive gushing about him!
The 1977 game with highly favored Nevada is still in my mind the most memorable win in Aggie history. Toomey was packed. Nevada fans in their RVs were everywhere and confident; but, the Aggies won decisively. Coach Ault was anything but a great sportsmanship coach on that afternoon; he was a very poor loser and was not even trying to hide it. Apparently he was never a good loser. I would say that is why he is not on that list.
Oh well, must be his pistol; and I must say thats a gotcha on me. But he was not on the list that you posted. How are we supposed to know whose on a list that is not completely posted? Sorry. Too defensive (quote be wife!!) . Still caught up in a 1977 game of football. . .
he’s on the ESPN list on their NCAAF page. Pretty sure it’s the one linked above (that link didn’t work for me). It matches with the spots listed for Pete, Patterson and Sochor
Not sure what the deal is with the link, or perhaps my computer skills. Doesn't work on my phone, but works on my computer. Kind of the story of my life.
