I feel like Serra, St. Francis and Bellarmine always have pretty good teams. Evan Williams from St. Francis was looking at Davis last year, but went to Fresno State. Saint Ignatius (Teddye Buchanan) is also in the WCAL.
WR CJ Hutton ** 5'9 170 Folsom High School (Folsom, CA) must have some jets and or hands with offers incl. from Air Force, New Mexico, and North Dakota. Local!
208 is still really really light for a TE even at FCS. 208 would be our lightest TE on the roster by a fairly significant margin with our guys getting more playtime being up around 240. The kid looks like an excellent receiving threat though. Kinda in the same vein as a Wesley Preece.
"The last 48 hours have been HUUUUGE. These commitments are ROLLING IN. Great sign for the future of @UCDfootball
"Welcome to the family boys. Going to be a great ride together. Enjoy every moment of the journey and we’ll all find joy together #WelcomeToShredville

SF Examiner says LB Buchanan now 215#s. "Last season, Buchanan cracked his thumb and sprained his ACL, forcing him to play only defense. He excelled, earning First-Team All-West Catholic Athletic League honors and was named a first-team All-City defensive back by The Examiner.
"As part of a two-QB system with Zachary Taylor-Smith this year, Buchanan — who turned 17 this month — has completed 72 of 111 passes for 950 yards and 10 touchdowns to only five interceptions, averaging 8.5 yards per attempt. He’s also rushed 50 times for 350 yards and seven touchdowns."
Flipping through that chronicle article, wow! Piner HS up in Santa Rosa is "a 6-0 team that has outscored foes 338-14." Actually, 7-0 and 386-21 now. And those 21 points came from only 2 teams. They've shut out 5 of their opponents this year, including my alma mater, Sonoma Valley HS, 71-0. Ouch.
AZ Central on our new TE commit - who they list at 215 pounds:
""The thing I liked about UC Davis was the togetherness that the team and coaches had with each other and how the school itself from both the academic and sports standpoints are making drastic improvements," Gale said. "And seeing what the school can be in a year or two is something that I would love to be a part of."
"Gale, 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, is a 247Sports Composite 3-star recruit. He also had an offer from Northern Arizona.
"He has 22 catches for 492 yards and five touchdowns this season for the 5-2 Black Hawks."
He started the first game against us, but dropped to third in depth chart. Caught one pass last year, none this. 2018 recruiting class.
Was a three star recruit out of high school, for what that’s worth.
Wow was not expecting this when it was brought up earlier that he was transferring. Maybe a change of scenery and lower level opponents will help him shine.
I hope we more transfers from Cal or UCLA., same educational system so smooth transfer of academic credits. We’ve lost a few to UCLA, so it’s nice to see some moving our way.
I wouldn't be surprised if we lose our commitment from LB Tyler Mello. Based on his twitter feed, it seems like Fresno has been his dream school and he just received an offer from them.
He chose us over MSU but is now receiving a lot more attention. He has picked up offers from Fresno State, Wyoming, San Diego State, Sacramento State and UNLV since announcing his commitment to us.
