  • Aggies to the Mountain West
Last year, the MWC had 6 schools in the NCAA tournament and the Big West had 1. 4 of those schools (BSU, CSU, USU, SDSU) are leaving for the Pac but UNR and UNM aren't. MWC isn't as good this year but it's still a big step up from being in a conference that will get excited for having its autobid not be the 15th or 16th seed in the big dance.
  • Aggies to the Mountain West
It looks like the MWC is preparing itself for the next realignment when it loses more football members. It's probably hoping that when that happens, we'll be ready to move up to FBS.
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
I think he doesn't have any eligibility left
  • Hey just found the site! Go Ags!
I had a different username on that one and remember it well. It was still a more pleasant experience than some of the other fan forums out there at the time, a lot of which also used Yuku. Unfortunately a lot of that has not changed at all — big sky and big west boards specifically.

I actually had to go deep into the Yuku AST threads to find the photo of the 2007 horseshoe game I posted in the other thread (about attendance). can confirm it’s still around and a fun blast through the past for anyone who wants to do some reading about Aggie athletics over the years!
  • Most Interesting 2024 Quarterfinal Game
The seeds worked out in a way that gives both UCD and Idaho opportunities for redemption. UCD has a chance this weekend to prove it was more deserving of #4, and if it does that it then gets a second shot (assuming MSU beats Idaho) at handing MSU their first loss of the season. For Idaho, the road to Frisco potentially goes through the only teams it lost to, and on the road again.

It actually is though. I hate the sac state boards with an ad every 5 posts and still cannot for the life of me understand why Any Given Saturday makes a one-post view the default instead of showing all posts in a thread without needing to opt-in to that each time you clear your cookies (and you can only change this setting by switching from mobile view to desktop view).

Meanwhile on AST things are clean, instant-updating, and simple.

Battle for the Golden Horseshoe 2007, in which Ramses Barden and co. destroyed us 28-63 in front of 5+ sections of Aggie Pack. I remember that even the stairs between each section were filled. Back then we stood for the whole game so for this game the stairs were just an extension of each section ... meaning you had each row of students going uninterrupted from the current-day visitor section all the way to the Band-Uh! section.

If only we had the 2007 Aggie Pack for the 2024 football team...
  • Tailgating
yep we got his ticket already. The junior Aggie comment was a reference to the most recent episode where they talk about fielding questions from junior aggies. Thanks for looking out though!
  • FCS Playoffs - Skyline Sports
I enjoy watching your interviews of our team and other coverage of the Big Sky. Plough and Miles both lost their power while they were talking to you so one could say that you're doing a lights out job
  • Tailgating
I'll try to swing by with my 6 year old junior aggie and encourage him to bring some hard hitting questions for the pod
  • Other Games, 2024
Yeah I think we'll get #5 too. Just saying that if there's an equal argument to be made between one of those 3 programs (or the Montana ones) and ours, they'll get the nod over us.

As for whether there's an equal argument between USD and UCD... UCD has more quality wins (and wins overall) but USD just beat one of the perennial FCS powers.
  • Other Games, 2024
I agree, but some other things have changed which might or might not make a difference. When they decided on the the top 10, SUU was not expected to be in the playoffs. If they make it out of the bubble then that gives UCD 3 wins over playoff teams and USD would only have 1. I don't think we can overcome the pro-Dakota bias, though.
  • Aggie Pride: A UC Davis Football Podcast
Another great episode! Sent you a DM, by the way.
  • Playoff Talk 2024
I think the only scenario where we aren’t confident about a top 4 seed is if USD beats NDSU and Montana beats MSU. That would leave NDSU, SDSU, USD, UCD, and MSU all with 1 FCS loss, mostly to each other. I’m hoping in that scenario Portland State’s whooping cough (which meant one less win for USD) makes USD the #5 seed.

I don’t love that the Big Sky’s representative on the committee (until 2028) is Sac State’s AD.
  • Week 13: 70th Annual Causeway Classic
Is “stingers down” a thing yet? Because if not I would love for that to be part of Chancellor May’s already-great legacy.
  • 2024 Week 12: #2 Montana State (10-0) @ #4 UC Davis (9-1)
he’s talking about the second TD to make it 14-30. I see the math but at the same time i get it because we were anemic up to that point and Plough just wanted some momentum. Getting a TD but losing the 2 point conversion would have blunted the momentum.
  • 2024 Week 12: #2 Montana State (10-0) @ #4 UC Davis (9-1)
They've been on sale. I think the end zones are sold out now...
  • WBB: Aggies (1-1) at #24 Stanford (3-0) 7 pm Wednesday 11/13
Was close. Buddy of mine tuned in at the end of the 3rd, then Stanford took the lead back. We can blame him.
