I like the balance they're striking with calling back to the classic look and still keeping it fresh.

I wouldn't even mind seeing the blue helmets again for some away game or even maybe once at home ("blue out" game maybe?). And of course gotta bring back the gold pants at least for Homecoming and the rivalry games.

I don't know if Montana or UND would ever be practical but it would seem reasonable to me that in addition to the rivalry games, any OoC game in CA, Nevada, or Oregon (in addition to PSU) should have Band-Uh there.

It seems like ICA isn't as strapped for cash now (that's not to say they aren't still in reality) so hopefully something can eventually happen.

Not much we can do to control our US News rank. Their methodology isn't very fair to a school like Davis that's trying to grow, and it even changes some/most years so you can't directly compare trends.

The fact that we place in the top 20 out of public schools across many different rankings is the more significant stat to me.

I can somewhat anecdotally confirm this as well; GE classes I took at UCLA met the same prereqs but counted for more credit than their comparable classes at Davis. (And since they were summer classes they took less hours ironically.)

Unless the rules changed in the last few years, you're right that FBS transfers don't sit out. It's how we got Laughrea playing in Gould's first game after he transferred from Boise.

UC->UC transfers should also be really smooth from a prereq standpoint. I took 3 classes at UCLA in summers with relatively little issue and they directly correlated to classes offered at Davis.

Yeah, after 3 losses (two of them blowouts) in OoC the team went 5-3 in conference. By far his best season.

Actually that was something I wondered about the Facebook game last week: I bet the tech problems would have been worked out before the game had it been an East Coast ranked matchup instead of G5/FCS in California.

I'm guessing not, my understanding is that from a technical standpoint that would be a very different beast from a live stream just starting from whenever they turn it on.

This stream is the MU renovation all over again; didn't that get delayed like a year?
