I see the paper going two ways with this. They might want to call him out and get engaged, or alternately might feel that if nobody from Davis heard the comments in the first place then it doesn't affect them and won't be appreciated by the cheerleaders to dwell on it. True, true, I'm just venting. The thing I hate the most to see is other teams doing spectacular unguardable heroics, whether its our fault or luck or their skill or whatever.

I don't think Les should be fired but he needs to go back to the drawing board with how he coaches this team. We're always going to get some help in the Pavilion which is one of the better arenas in the conference and the longest mainland road trip for everyone else. But in order to win conference and win the tournament we have to be a road team.

Is it too late to drop back down to DII?

Remember this is the second-best and most well-rounded team UCD has ever fielded in DI that we're watching here.

The boards he sits on are somewhat less conflict of interest-y than Katehi's boards. I think Sacbee did a passably honest reporting job by breaking the news (I think it was them) in the first place and examining how this is similar and different to Katehi's situation.

In a down year for the conference, Aggies could have a case for sweeping the CoY, PoY, Newcomer, Hustle, and 6th Man awards with out it being hyperbole. I don't think that's actually what would happen of course but our players are playing the best basketball of their careers while everyone else is underperforming.

I expect Siler, Chima, and Brynton to get honored in some capacity and wouldn't be too surprised if Darius and Lawrence do as well. Chima seems to have all the PoY buzz and he could maybe cement it with double-doubles on Thurs and Sat. I think Newcomer of the Year is his for the taking if he doesn't get the top honor.
