Can confirm, going to high school in the Sac area relatively recently my friends and I had a pretty indifferent view of Davis. Being a good school didn't really matter because it was too close to home to be interesting. Also the number of non-STEM college applicants outpaced the STEM students; it wasn't really on the radars of the English, business, and poli sci majors.

Could've fooled me. I suppose one might quibble that the Fly is an option offense but the way the Ags use it it definitely looks like a spread, as you pointed out.

Maybe it's harder to recruit RBs if you get known as a spread team?

On the subject of 2-sport athletes, I just noticed that Garren O'Keefe is one of the walk on commits. He's also a 20ppg SF for Colfax's good basketball team; I wonder if he's going to try to do both in college? Seems he'd fit into Les's system as a 2/3 if his defense is good.

Well, in order to lose our home win streak it took an inhuman shooting performance by the best opponent in the conference while our best player was suspended and we still almost brought it back.

My guess based on the evidence that a) it was something that could happen at a hotel b) it seems like the University doesn't exactly know the procedure at the moment and c) that law enforcement does not seem to be involved is that it was weed.

But that's pure conjecture and maybe we'll never hear the full story.

Those UCSB games will be huge. I'm not feeling up to doing a complete scenario analysis but if we sweep we're in a pretty strong place to win the conference (even with a random other loss somewhere) provided nobody else down the table wins out.

Decent, not great but not bad for a mid-major. The UC Davis page is more active than most colleges and Aggie sports got a lot of posts this past year thanks to MBB, WBB, and Football.

Hawaii has the best quality streams if I recall correctly -- I'm glad this is the away game that I finally have time to catch!

Re: the infamous Hawaii game, my understanding from a reddit conversation about it recently think was that a player got T'd for mouthing off to the ref and the crowd got T'd for throwing a little giveaway ball onto the court -- both fouls happened between two Tyler Les free throws which resulted in him making six FTs in a row, which is a little tidbit that's bound to come in handy on a trivia night sometime.

Ags still lost that game actually but the 6 pts caught them up to make the score relatively close.
