While it's a much better draw than Stanford, Missouri State has a very impressive resume:

• In the last tournament in 18-19, they made the Sweet 16 knocking off 2 ranked teams prior to falling to Stanford by single digits
• Nationally ranked this year and in 19-20 even though there was no tournament
• Beat a #2 seed in Maryland this year and crushed a good #11 seed FGCU by 25 points

• Edit: Perfect 16-0 in the 12th ranked conference by rpi (Missouri Valley). For comparison, the Big West is ranked 16th best by rpi

Props to the Bison, good game. Very physical team and a barometer of where we need to be. That said, call me crazy, but imo we had a chance in both the Cal and NDSU games. It felt like we belong in both games. Let's see how this season progresses

Run defense needs serious work. Last week, thought Cal's running game was just next level. Now, thinking it might just be our defense.

Despite Cal’s elite defense, this is probably as good a chance as we’ll ever have to beat them. Maybe our best team ever? imo it will come down to preventing their defense from scoring which means our O-line needs to make sure Maier has time. Unfortunately I have us losing this one but we have a shot for sure. 23-13 Cal

i have us going 9-3 and getting back into the playoffs. Hoping we win at least two out of three at home vs Montana, Weber and MSU

Impressed by Stanford. They always seem to provide a humbling experience. But still a phenomenal season overall. All the best to our outstanding seniors. And Sage Stobbart showed flashes of what she can provide on both ends. With Bertsch graduating, she has big shoes to fill. Definitely a step in the right direction for our program- we just played an elite team.

I tend to agree with most of your points, and am happy we’re in the tournament esp where fans can travel. However, there’s the flip side of the coin. Had the committee erred the other way and seeded slightly better than rpi, we would’ve been a 13. And 13 seeds have won 6 times. It’s not that far fetched considering our win streak, winning the BW regular season 3 straight years, and our average margin of victory (how many 20+ point wins have we had this yr). On Saturday, ESPN even predicted a 13 seed. Again, I do understand the travel angle, but imo we got the short end of the stick. And hopefully the ladies will still compete on Sat.

This site gives us a 4% chance of advancing- better than any other 15 or 16 seed, half the 14 seeds and even one of the 13 seeds. This just reinforces that our team was underseeded. Need to play our best game and let the chips fall where they may.

These defenses are tough as nails. Wow. Impressive

Defense looked solid, but TJ's going to need some help on the offensive end. Despite our record, I still believe this team has potential to be a BW contender. Freshman Caleb Fuller is going to be a solid contributor. He made a couple mistakes down the stretch including a travel and double dribble, but he already looks like he belongs and has good size. Only going to improve. Overall, shots were not falling, and in some cases didn't even look close. We'll need our vets to step up. A starting 5 of BW POY Shorts, Siler, John, Goode and Fuller should not be 2-7.
