Aggies move up 3 spots to #16 in the Coaches Poll. The coaches still don't believe in the Ags as much as the other pollsters but that's fine with me...keeps us humble and gives us something to prove...

    Great post Kerberos!

    - That decision to go for it on 4th and 2 in the first overtime possession... GUTSY!! I don't think I've ever seen that in all the OT games of college football I've watched.

Two years ago my wife would only come to the games because she knew that I still wanted to go. She just grew weary of watching the Ags lose so much. Then this Saturday, when Hawk made the decision to go for the TD on 4th down in OT and my jaw dropped for a moment, she turned to me and said with a big grin, "This coach plays to WIN!"

This was our signature win of the D1 era so far and our most important win as well in regards to the effect it has had on our fans. The fan base is energized and expectations are sky high for this team. We haven't felt like this since the D2 glory days and we may look back on this game in the future and say, "This is the game where we came of age in the D1 era." How sweet it is!

  • Uniforms
My favorite unis ever! Just make sure to pair them up with the new, sparkling gold helmets. I have never liked the old style, yale gold color that looked more like milquetoast tan.
  • 2019 Recruiting List
I would say that it is highly unlikely. It would depend highly upon the nature of the violation. Hawk and all the other Aggie coaches put a premium on individual character, academics and how a player would fit into the team chemistry. I'm sure they also believe in "second chances" but only if the infraction was minor and all of those other factors were met.

Are there reruns on bigskytv? I was at the game but I'd like to watch it again.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
    Thanks...I get it now...
  • Week 7: Homecoming vs. Idaho State
The whole greater Sacramento to the East Bay and the greater Bay Area is becoming a congested, driving nightmare more and more...
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
I thought Poly was famous for the triple option. So you never have a FB and TB in the backfield just the FB?
  • Week 7: Big Sky
I don't think extra bleachers would be practical or feasible for one game. I think a lot of fans love to sit in the grass areas too. However, if it was raining, sitting in the grass would not be fun.

I've heard there is a capacity restriction by the Fire Marshal but I don't get it especially compared to how we used to pack The Toom to the point that the bleachers were bending and the crowd standing 6-10 deep around the track. For one, there's nothing to burn or break or fall on the fans at Aggie Stadium. Exiting the stadium in some unforeseen emergency (earthquake or bomb scare etc) would be swift and easy given the open layout of the stadium. There are lots of exits and some fans could even exit onto the field and through the tunnel easily as well.

I think it would be easy to get 12,000+ safely in the stadium. If the safety officials think that's a problem they need to visit a lot of other stadiums in the country that seat thousands more and are much more difficult to exit in an emergency and they are considered safe.

Heck, we were packed in like sardines when I was at the Big house in Michigan a few weeks ago (over 111,000). They pack the fans in so tight that you are shoulder to shoulder but it's all good and the fans love it. Our Athletic Department needs to look into allowing more fans into Aggie Stadium if we have the demand.
  • Week 7: Big Sky
Can you imagine if we were able to host a second round playoff game in Aggie Stadium. Damn! The place would be bursting at the seams!
  • Aggie Field Trip to Folsom Prison...
"Aggies in Prison..." is an attention getting title for this thread but, if someone is just passing through this forum without knowing what the post is about, it sure doesn't look good!
Maybe "Aggies Make a Goodwill Visit to Folsom Prison" would have been less startling! :yikes:
  • Week 7: Big Sky
I think Gubrud sat out last week also and EWU still put up 55 on SSU without him. I think their loss to Weber tells me just how good Weber is.
  • Aggie Field Trip to Folsom Prison...
There was an article about this on the Aggie website also. Sounds like it was a great experience for the players that went and it meant a lot to the inmates as well. The Aggie Athletics Department is truly interested in providing life experiences for the athletes outside of the sports they play. Great to see.
  • Week 7: Homecoming vs. Idaho State
“The guys are a little beat up,” ISU defensive coordinator Roger Cooper said in a postgame radio interview. “They forgot what it's like to lose and it's hitting them pretty hard. It's tough to see. But, it just really shows you how much they care and how much opportunity is still ahead of us to win a lot of games.”

    I'm really surprised by Sac's complete collapse...wow..
  • Week 7: Homecoming vs. Idaho State
That was the wildest ending to a college football game ever!
