• WBB: Aggies (8-9, 3-1) at Cal Poly (4-11, 1-3) 2 pm Saturday, January 25th
Has it been confirmed that Nina got a medical redshirt for another year of eligibility?
  • WBB: Aggies (8-9, 3-1) at Cal Poly (4-11, 1-3) 2 pm Saturday, January 25th
Svanholm 6'6, Lily 6'5, Stobbart 6'3, Jones 6'3 and Gibb 6'2 along with Cierra Hall who is only 6'0 but plays like she's a 6'3 rebounder. It will be interesting to see how Jen uses all this height.

I watched most of this game. Stobbart is playing with so much more confidence right now. It's great to see her finally finding her stride.
  • Morgan Bertsch signing with Dallas wings....
Good for Morgan. Those were some great years of Aggie basketball when she played for us.
  • Rematch at Fullerton
Interestingly, both teams had 34 in the paint. The difference was that Fullerton had 15 second chance points to our 8, pounded us on the boards 36-26 and had more fast break points 12-7 yet we still found a way to win.
  • Rematch at Fullerton
We kept counterpunching when Fullerton would make a run to cut the lead. I think they got it down to 3 in the last minute or so. They started pounding the ball inside and getting drawing fouls and getting offensive rebounds. Koehler fouled out and Neufeld had 4. We need more depth in the interior especially against teams that are so physical and athletic inside like Fullerton. We kept battling though and got the job done.

We'll have our hands full with Amadou Sow next Thursday. I'm not sure how we're going to be able to contain his length and physical ability.
  • Rematch at Fullerton
Ags win 87-81 with Caleb Fuller leading the way 23 points on 9 of 11 shooting.

    44-35 Ags at the break...shooting 67% from 3.

This game is scheduled for a 7:30 pm tipoff in Fullerton and will be televised on ESPN3. Also, the Irvine at Santa Barbara game just started and it's on ESPNU.
  • WBB: UCD vs. UCI
It looks like they focused their defense on Toole and completely shut her down.
  • Rematch at Fullerton
We really need to win this game and have a bit of momentum going up against Santa Barbara on Thursday.
  • WBB: UCD vs. UCI
69-68 UCI with 0.34 to go
  • WBB: UCD vs. UCI
Go Ags...I didn’t know about the afternoon start
  • WBB: Aggies (11-9, 6-1) at CSU Fullerton (11-8, 3-3) 7 pm Thursday, February 6th
Hawaii got an unfair geographic advantage though... :smirk:
  • WBB: Aggies (11-9, 6-1) at CSU Fullerton (11-8, 3-3) 7 pm Thursday, February 6th
I believe that we do lead the conference in attendance for WBB. They have a great, devoted following and the players always take time after each game to go around the court and into the stands to mingle with and thank their followers. I wish more of their fans would stick around for the MBB game when there is a double-header though.

We've got some exciting recruits in the pipeline right now so the future is even brighter. We're going to have some tremendous size next year.
  • Rematch vs. Irvine
When a PG gets deep into the paint and surrounded by bigs collapsing on him it is tough to make the kick-out pass but Ezra does that at times. He's going to be one of the top candidates for Freshman of the Year in the Big West. I really like how he is driving and hitting that short, fall away jumper now too. Pepper is really gaining confidence also and his offensive game is growing. These two are going to lead the way for us in the next 3 years. Now we need to get some solid contributions from some wings and a in the post.
  • Aggie Back Field
I've broken ribs before from mountain biking crashes and, if the ribs aren't doing damage to any other vital organs, you just have to wait out the painful healing process. Trying to get comfortable sleeping was real problem too until you get over the hump.
  • WBB: Aggies (11-9, 6-1) at CSU Fullerton (11-8, 3-3) 7 pm Thursday, February 6th
They keep finding ways to win...even when they only score 42 points like they did against Poly and still won....
  • Rematch vs. Irvine
The conference teams have have figured out how to defend us since we rely so much on our 3 point shooting. They're really sticking to Mooney and Gonzalez like glue...fighting through screens and playing them very tight. Joe needs a little more space to get his shot off since he tends to lean forward a bit with a long, left hand push on the shot on the 3 but he does have a fall away short jumper in his arsenal. Gonzalez has a very quick release and tends to go straight or or even falling away a bit.

We're the best 3 point shooting team in the conference but the problem for us is that we don't have an interior game that teams really have to respect and the better conference teams are more balanced in their offensive attack. For example, in the first game against Irvine they pummeled us in the paint 40-12. We did a much better job defending them inside in the second game but, since they weren't scoring at will inside, they took what we were giving them on the outside and were knocking down 3's. We pretty much live and die by the 3.
