• Week 2: UC Davis @ University of San Diego
I like the gold color they are using now. It's so much better than those boring "tan colored" helmets, that they had up until a few years ago, that they used to call "gold" but really only matched the tan pants that the coaching staff wore.

I'm excited to watch both the men and the women this year. That double header will be great!
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
We usually have a great group of students for the first home game of the season and the student stampede across the field and then those numbers dwindle dramatically as the season progresses regardless of how good we are playing. I wish I could believe that's it's going to be different this year but past history tells me not to get my hopes up for having a great Aggie pack again...

  • Opening Day 2021 - @ Tulsa
    More from the Enterprise article:

“The odds are pretty much 80 percent that you’ll have a winning season if you win your first game,” said the Aggie boss.
“It also creates a tremendous amount of buy-in to what we’re doing and generates momentum. It was a possession game, and
for us to have no turnovers was huge.”

Added Hawkins, “We won the turnover battle and the red zone battle. There are a lot of meaningful reasons why we won.”

Hawkins was especially pleased that on the afternoon before the game the entire team and coaching staff was able to visit the Greenwood Rising exhibition along what is known as Tulsa’s Black Wall Street, where a horrific race massacre took
    place 100 years ago.

“That was an amazing, impactful and meaningful experience. You can do that and still play a football game. Those things canbe done together. That’s uniquely UC Davis.”
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
Thanks Obda! I hope I can hear the crowd all the way to SF!

My wife and I have had the same disappointing experiences when we've gone to Dodgers/Giants games and we always seem to lose and be surrounded by obnoxious Dodger fans to boot! We'll be seeing the Padres and the Braves on this trip.

We're over the moon with how the Giants have been doing this year! They've been fun to watch especially since it's been such a total team effort with so many players contributing and who ever thought that we'd be leading MLB in HR's?!! Gabe Kapler has done a masterful job of managing this team with all the injuries we had and all the players going back and forth from the River Cats.

It's tough being in the same division as the Dodgers though. We could possibly win 100 or more games and not win the division and then have to play in the Wild Card game. I'm just hoping we win the division and send the Dodgers to the WC game! Man, I'd love to see that happen!
  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
I hope I'm not the only 'Old-Timer" here. I always seem to be the most senior person in anything I do anymore. Can't complain though, still got my health and fitness but not my six pack!
  • FCS Polls Week 1
I think #12 is a fair ranking for us at this stage.

They generally have a pretty good following of Big Sky fans. Mostly the Montanas and EWU though. Even though most of the commentary on their forum is about the big teams in the Midwest, East and the South, they are a pretty knowledgeable group. We get a lot of respect from NDSU fans too.

We need to win solidly at SD and then against Dixie State. That will set the stage for the game at Weber which will be huge assuming that Weber is still highly ranked by then also. At that point, if we beat Weber in their house, you'll see us jump up the polls.

How many more votes did we get under our alias, Cal-Davis?

  • Week 3: Dixie State at UC Davis
Thanks! I can't believe I'm 3/4 of the way to 100! We'll take in a couple of Giants game while we're in the City. We're big fans and they're a huge surprise this season. Best record in baseball but it never comes easy. Hope my heart can survive the "torture!"

It doesn't appear that the FCS fans over on anygivenday.com were that impressed with the Aggies win over Tulsa. They ranked us #12. Click on the images below to enlarge:
