I'm really excited about this team. There's depth that has been missing for quite a while for the Ags. Everybody that played tonight contributed. We have a variety of weapons. Christian Anigwe was amazing and Ty Johnson is going to be a force to reckon with and, of course, Pepper was his usual self...with a motor that just never quits. It's been a long time since we've had an Aggie team with this much talent.

Jim Les has put together a pretty damn good basketball team! Congratulations to the players and the coaches!

Great defense by the Ags on Cal's last 3 possessions. Gotta keep defending strong...contest all of Cal's shots...

Wow...Pepper with 2 straight steals and layups! Ags up 66-61 with 5:25 to go.

Tied at 60 with 7:49 to go. Gotta gets some stops without fouling. Cal is already in the bonus.

Bears up 54-53. Pretty ragged play so far in the second half for the Ags. Hope we can settle down and stay close.

Cal on a roll now as the Ags and cut the lead to 4. Pepper is cold...3-10.

I thought that everybody that took the floor for the Ags played pretty well and showed potential. Ty Johnson is the big surprise. He's tremendously athletic.

Cal's 7'1 260 center, Thiemann, is a load for us to defend. Anigwe will have to be careful with 2 fouls. We can't let Cal continue to shoot 56% or more and win.

41-36 Ags at the half. Cal shooting 56%. Ags cooled off to 44%. Les has played 11 players already.

I thought that Norris showed she has the potential to become a very good post player also.

All in all, this was a good debut for Ezra. His coach, Jerry Stackhouse certainly has confidence in him. He played 30 minutes, the most of any Vandy player, and ended up with 6 points, 3 assists and a rebound.

He's not going to put up numbers like he did in the BW. It's going to be much tougher for him to drive inside against the kind of size and talent of the big men like Memphis, Kentucky, and Tennessee have. He showed that he will be a big part of this Vandy team and he can be a contributor at this level.

Ezra played really tough defense which spurred a bit of a rally for Vandy who was ice cold. He took his Les-coached, hard working defense with him.

34-22 Memphis at the half. Cold shooting for Vandy: 30% including 2-14 from 3.

Ezra gets the start at point for Vandy.

UW will be very tough. They aren't exceptionally big but they do have 3 players who are 6'4.

I also looked at their schedule and 11 of their first 13 games are at home. It's incredible how these power programs can schedule like.

It looks like Jen has a lot of combinations she can go to this year with a lot more depth on the bench. Losing Svanholm really hurts. That puts a lot of pressure on Norris to defend the interior against teams with good size and, if she gets in foul trouble, those teams will exploit the middle. I also expect teams to focus on shutting down Turner so we'll need some other players to step up with a hot hand. Overall, this game showed promise.
