Agree. We had 19 TO's and that won't play out well against tough competition.

The Aggie schedule a tough one in the next couple of weeks for sure. EWU, UCLA and Hawaii on the road before coming home to play Irvine who just may be the best team in the Big West.

I thought that might be the case. Keeping everybody well is not easy right now with the flu on the the increase, Covid still lurking and that respiratory virus on the rise. Almost makes me want to stay home!

I think Henry can give us some help in the middle especially with Borra still out. He's a wide body and is physical. He has a nice stroke on his shot also.

Ags are 17-21 on FT’s so far. That’s a huge improvement. Hope I didn’t just jinx us!
  • Transfer Portal
Some of these players just keep transferring again and again. I guess that’s one way to travel…

No Kane Milling anywhere tonight. I hope he’s ok.

I'm not a big fan of these kind of games. I feel like Holy Names has everything to gain and nothing to lose and it's just the opposite for the Aggies. Games like this are hard to for the players to get emotionally ready and focused to play hard. We could be a bit rusty coming off a long layoff for finals and I expect that the crowd will be small as well. Holy Names be fired up for the opportunity to pull a big upset and we all know what can happen given our past history with The Academy of Art. These kind of games can be a trap.

I hope we're ready to take care of business tonight and put this game away early. It would be nice to see the whole bench get a lot of playing time. Go Ags!
  • Transfer Portal
Taylor used the transfer portal heavily to build the Sac program so he knows how to recruit from it and he was certainly successful quickly. This year's Sac roster included 13 transfers from other 4 year programs including 4 from power conferences. There were also 16 JC transfers on the roster although they are not from the portal.

So it seems that his method of achieving success quickly is to bring in lots of players that have significant experience at the college level either through the portal or from JC programs.

Do you think Stanford is calling?

Sac has some very good playmakers at WR and RB and their LBers are very physical and quick to the ball. I wonder how many more might hit the portal now.

I saw that too. I'm assuming it's author's error. He mentions Aggie post, Megan Norris, later in the article and then adds a couple more quotes from "Morris." It's confusing as to who he is quoting..."Jennifer Moriss or Megan Norris...."

SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga guard Brynna Maxwell was a junior at Utah when the UC Davis women’s basketball team came back from a 17-point deficit to defeat the Zags last season at the University Credit Union Center.

However, in a rematch between the teams in Spokane on Sunday, Maxwell was in a Zags uniform, and it may have been the difference.

The graduate transfer scored 19 points and went 5-for-7 from 3-point range as Gonzaga (9-2) defeated UC Davis 73-55 in the McCarthey Athletic Center.

“She’s a great player,” said UC Davis head coach Jennifer Morris. “If you make a mistake, she makes you pay for it, so if the game plan is to chase her on the ball screens and you go under one time, she’s making it. If you lose her in transition one time, she’s making it, so I think we just had a few lapses where we weren’t locked in quite as much on her as we needed to be.”

  • WBB: Aggies (3-4) at #22 Gonzaga (8-2) 2 p.m. Sunday 12/11
The Aggies kept the game in reach and were down 8 with 6:10 to go in the 4th quarter but faded quickly after from there. 19 TO's are just too many.
  • SI Suggests Troy Taylor for Stanford
    WHAT’S NEXT FOR SAC STATE?

Who might take over for Taylor? Taylor brought longtime friend and Folsom co-coach Kris Richardson with him to Sacramento State to serve as assistant head coach and offensive line coach. Taylor is big on “football family” and that includes longtime friend Bobby Fresques, the Hornets’ quarterback coach and one-time Folsom assistant.

Sacramento State’s staff also includes highly regarded defensive coordinator Andy Thompson, who wants to be a head coach. Other possible names to replace Taylor could include former Hornets linemen and assistant coaches Jon Osterhout, who has coached American River College to success, and Angus McClure, a longtime college assistant who was just hired at Nevada for a third tour after a recent stint as Cal’s line coach.

Orr told The Bee on Friday night that he expected Taylor to receive interest because, “he’s a great coach. He’s been incredible here.”

Taylor said Sacramento State will continue to flourish, saying, “We’ve established something special here.”
