The box score shows that Jen substituted freely and a lot of the players got some playing time in both halves. However, I saw that Sabel, who started the game, didn't play at all in the final 2 quarters whereas the other starters did. I hope she didn't get injured.

What an entertaining and insightful presser. The thing that stands out to me in this presser is Hawk's honesty and wisdom.

We all want to win and play for championships but, when thing's aren't going well, most fans tend to fault the coaches and the QB first. I thought his explanation about how each of the 3 interceptions were not simply Miles' fault alone. The receivers have to run the correct routes and be in the right place for the timing of the pass to be accurate and that didn't happen on the first interception. The same thing contributed to Miles holding onto the ball longer and then getting hit from the back when he fumbled. There are a lot of moving parts that need to be in sync for a passing play to be successful so interceptions are not solely about what appears to be a poorly thrown ball by the QB.

I thought Hawk's answer to what he told the team today was special and it tells us a lot about why we are so fortunate to have him as our head coach.

I said it earlier in this thread but I'll say it again, the most concerning thing to me is that we haven't improved as the season has progressed. If anything, we've regressed some.

The Ags fell to visiting Long Beach 3-1 (23-25, 30-28, 19-25, 16-26) last night. The Aggies are now 6-6 in the Big West and 11-11 overall. The Aggies continue their stretch of home games against Irvine next Thursday, November 2nd at 6 pm.

The Aggies ended the regular season on a sour note by losing to Sac State 1-0 at home. The Ags will now play there first game of the Big West Tournament against Cal Poly next Wednesday, November 1st at 3 pm in Davis.

Sac turned a close game at the half into a blowout and beats Idaho State 51-16 while racking up 587 yards. I don't even want to think about the Causeway game....

The outlook for the rest of the season is bleak, IMO. We've have Portland State, Idaho State and Sac State ahead and, quite frankly, we will not be favored in any of these games unless there's a miraculous turn around for the Ags.

I've been watching Idaho State @ Sac and Sac is up 24-16 at the half but I wouldn't count ISU out quite yet. Both of those teams have more overall, athletic depth than we do and are more explosive than we are. It's remarkable what Cody is doing at ISU which is a team that won only one game last year. Portland State put 47 points on EWU today and had twice the yardage.

Beating any of these 3 teams would be an upset and we could easily lose all 3 and go 4-7 for the season. I'll still be rooting for the Ags in each game but we're not playing at the level of these teams. I hope I'm wrong.

Really tough loss for the Aggies today as Irvine rallied for a 13-12 win in 2 OT:

IRVINE, Calif. — Ahead by two goals with less than two minutes to go, No. 9 UC Irvine (14-7, 3-1) rallied to force overtime, where they pulled off the upset over No. 7 UC Davis (15-8, 3-1) with a final minute goal in the second overtime period.

The loss puts the Aggies into a three-way tie for the top seed in the Big West standings, but the Anteaters will hold the tiebreaker over UC Davis and UC San Diego (13-11, 2-1). The Aggies can clinch a top two seed with a win over San Diego next weekend.

- critical TO's
- extremely poor 3rd and 4th down conversions
- ineffective halftime adjustments
- confusion getting the right players on the field causing burned time outs
- defense making lots of stops but continue to give up the big plays
- inability to score in the red zone

What makes this season so frustrating is the team has failed to improve as the season has progressed and we're still making a lot of the same mistakes that cost us in previous games.
