• Prediction time!
If we think we’re good enough to be a championship contender we should expect that we’ll either win one of the two games we’re underdogs in or run the table in the games we’re favored in.
I’m hoping we pull off an upset of either Cal or NDSU to give us some cushion so we don’t have to run the table against the rest. We’ll have to see whether NDSU still looks unbeatable after all their changes.
I’ll predict we lose to Cal and NDSU and beat the rest. That assumes our defense doesn’t fall off, due to loss of Bland and the others. Linebackers will be key due to our losing so many contributors there.
  • Coaches Show
The article on the athletic dept. site seemed to imply the Sudwerk launch was today and coaches show on the 29th at it’s normal location the thread connecting them being beer at both. Did anyone hear Aggie coaches? I listened to the Cal coach on Aggie overtime podcast but that wasn’t our coach’s show.

So it’s confirmed Bland is not eligible.

    https://mavensports.io/cal/news/cal-football-uc-davis-to-visit-berkeley-without-ineligible-star-linebacker-MQ3GcIYfjEi7SjDdmFFQig/

Linebacker Montell Bland, who earned FCS freshman All-America honors last season, won’t be in uniform for UC Davis when the Aggies visit Cal in the season opener for both teams on Saturday.

Bland is not listed on the Aggies’ depth chart and an athletic department spokesman confirmed — with no other details — that he is not eligible to play at Cal.

Bland is the team’s top returning tackler with 78, a total that includes 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He had three quarterback hurries and recovered a fumble.

East Hall was on the east side of the quad, across the street from the patio the Coffe House moved to. It was set back a bit with two similar buildings fronting the street. Wood shingled sideing

Reminds me that I saw Phil Ochs sing “Here’s to the State of Mississippi” at the old coffeehouse in East Hall. The end of the 60s was hard on Phil. He went from Carnegie Hall to the Coffee House.

Oh No! . Frisco is in Texas
But maybe we should boycott the championship game anyway because of the name of the town.
  • Prediction time!
Note that Cal is playing North Texas in two weeks.

What’s the reason to be pessimistic at 1-10 Southern Utah? Just expect a letdown somewhere?
That will be a disappointing season, losing to every team ranked higher than us but getting upset twice, including a team picked near bottom of BigSky

The touchdown we got had an element of luck to it,
  • Aggies vs Bears
If ifs and buts we’re candy and nuts...
Winning this game is a possibility, but don’t count on Cal’s offense being terrible. They have a good size 230lb running back and an offensive lineman who is a two year starter and weighs 340lb. Might be tough on us. They’ve got a “four star” QB so he’s going to be a threat. They think they have very athletic new receivers. I just hope they’re not ready to play their best game, and we are. We have to play better than we did against San Jose and Stanford to pull off an upset.
  • Aggies vs Bears
They had a little more offensive success against Stanford than we did.
  • Aggies vs Bears
They have a lot of changes to both units. Our biggest hope is that we really have our act together, while they’re still getting to know each other. Cal seems to “rent” a lot of short term players, for example an FCS experienced grad student who was on two FCS teams. They have a lot of their players transfer to other schools , I think six this year. Maybe they’re panning for gold, sifting out less talented players, but there doesn’t seem to be much loyalty to and from players in their program.

I think links to players mentioned bios are probably auto generated. The bios are part of the roster, so the links pull the last roster entry.

The wide receiver article is posted.
Just talks about the six obvious candidates.
    Harrell, Vaughan, Livingston, Kraft, Crawford

no wide receiver preview yet, or QB. Building to a dramatic finish with the glory positions.
I figure Harrell is a known quantity, a returning starter. Who's new in a starting role is going to be more interesting.

In reference to the photo caption, Christian Skeptaris is a Junior in terms of eligibility.
  • Looking Forward to 2019
One QB, Niko Harris, moved to wide receiver in roster list. Makes me think of Carson Crawford’s pass versus Montana.
  • Aggies vs Bears
Just going by the roster, so don’t know reason he’s not on it. Played in playoffs last year. If there is less depth at inside linebacker he’s the key guy missing who still had eligibility.
  • Aggies vs Bears
Quincy Bennett isn't back this year.
However, if the coaches are concerned about depth at ILB why would they move Nas Anesi to outside linebacker, as was reported in the linebacker preview?
