Did it look like CJ regressed from last year or was he just overshadowed by the other QBs in the lineup? — Zander

Not so sure I can say he regressed, but I can say his passes were off the mark and wobbly. This was without any pressure, just rolling out and tossing to a receiver, same pattern one after another. He over threw more passes then he hit. On the other hand, 12 and 15 (Brock?) were tossing bulls eyes. What I really liked about 12 was his touch on the ball. He drilled it when he needed to, and finessed it at other times. I'm wondering if we are going to see a different QB in depending on the formation. They didn't show their cards at this scrimmage. There was a recruit and his father standing near me. Tall kid built like O'brien. Hawk came from across the field and brought them over to the sidelines away from the spectators. Wish I had an opportunity to chat with them.

This scrimmage needs to be moved back to Aggie stadium. Parking was nearly impossible at yhe IM field. CJ was impressive with his scrambling, but his passes totally sucked. In terms of QBs, i liked #15, with #12 a close second. Go Ags

I'm confused. Is there a spring game? The ads for picnic day include a "practice and interactive kids fest." It sounds like there will not be a spring game (?)

As I think about the last 6 or more seasons, our Aggies started off lethargic for at least the first half of the season. I hope we are more "polished" going into this next season. I am more optimistic of an improved outcome. Let us not forget "this is division l football!"
  • Coach Gould
i just had a co-worker leave here to work at Stanford. one of the big draws was the tuition assistance program: — DrMike

My wife's father was an administrator at USC when she was ready to head to college. She could have attended USC free on a similar program. She ended up at Pepperdine Malibu.

In a Stanford publication Gould said he and his wife felt like they died and went to Heaven.

Will TG still work at UCD?
    — movielover

My guess would be no. Universities often have special packages for the spouse of recruits, at least in the academic setting. And with her talents, I bet she lands in Palo Alto.

  • Les Reportedly to Be Interviewed for Cal Head Coaching Position

I just don't see Musselman being successful there. It seems he interviews well, then doesn't produce, other then some success at Nevada. But wait ladies, this just in:

  • Les Reportedly to Be Interviewed for Cal Head Coaching Position
Somewhere during the big dance, he was asked by a reporter whether he was interested in the Cal job and he said (I'm paraphrasing) "no, we have more to accomplish at Davis." I'll see if I can find the quote. With that said, as much as I like my job, I have a price. If I were him and was offered an interview, I would at least look at all the facts.
  • #16 Aggies (23-12) vs #1 Kansas (28-4)
Kansas is the real deal. We're getting killed by their offense and defense.
  • #16 Aggies (23-12) vs #1 Kansas (28-4)
Local Davis folks, headed to Woodstocks? The Grad? Seems like Woodstocks is too small to handle the crowd.
  • #16 Aggies (23-12) vs #1 Kansas (28-4)
They've got size. We will not be getting many second chance shots. The Ags need to be on fire with their shooting and control the turnover stats. That's my analysis in three sentences. I like 05's comment though - "we're playing with house money."

"Outstanding coaching move by Les to come out with that 1-3-1 zone after the last TO. His experience as a player and a coach in pressure situations like this is an absolute necessity at this level of play."
And don't let Schneider shoot the 3. He's great with that floater, bur kills us behind the arc.
