Beach was tough in the paint early on but the Ags kept a decent lead. Give Beach credit in the second half. Their D was better and they took the lead with a few minutes to go. But the Ags dug deep and did enough to win to finish out a nail biter at the end. While Beach has been down this year, they always scare me when they come into the Pavillion. As one Aggie told me at the Team Aggie event, “Beach always wins the warm up drills!”
I guess the Gauchos didn't see their #11 shove Mooney in the back then subsequently shove him to the ground? If you’re going to dish out penalties for shoving, let both teams feel the pain.
Funding is one issue. I think they missed the boat in this report regarding some other issues surrounding athletics. For example, what is the graduation rate of their student athletes? Do athletic scholarships offer opportunity for kids that otherwise might not be able to attend college? If their graduation rate is terrible and the program is costing them an arm and a leg, that would fit into the professor’s playbook.
TT is a good kid with great family support. His grandmother flew in from Phoenix to watch his games and continued to show up after he was hurt. As others have mentioned, hopefully he finishes his degree.
