Well darn. He is a young guy and with his skill set he will continue to advance his career. Many of us have braced ourselves for this and anticipated it would eventually happen. I wish him and his family all the best. He will be a tough act to follow.

My first impression was that it’s an early decision. But with the number of people congregating in tight places, like trying to see a chicken hatch from an incubator, it’s probably a good idea. Virtual works.

COVID testing required every 7 days starting 12/1 to access campus. Did my first one this morning. They are fast and efficient. I was impressed by the efficiency. I can easily see this incorporated to screen fans prior to events to improve safety. Turn around time is supposed to be 24-48 hours.

That sounds right. I was referring to “antigen” in contrast to an antibody test. I guess pcr would be classified into a subcategory, “molecular test.”

PCR is an antigen test.

I am just totally clueless on what to expect from these teams.

UC Davis is talking about testing the entire student body and faculty/staff weekly. They’re able to run the test in house. Not certain, but i suspect it’s a PCR which is quick, accurate, and very specific. I think Dr. Mike is correct, most schools don’t have the resources. We are fortunate to have a medical school and a veterinary school, both with the ability to run these tests.
