• Coach Gross - Coach of the Year (again!)
Movie, a friend of mine in Davis did see them all at once (the Bigs) at a farmers market the other day and it was hilarious like Fleet Day in San Francisco. Very imposing group indeed. Kids running up for autographs etc. Lets not put a lot of pressure on Kenedy now. We have some foreign talent coming in with strong D1 time. And the very interesting new development is Stobbart! She suddenly has her game going and she will be in the mix for sure next year. I will add: might this be the result of great coaching? Congrats to Coach Gross!!!
  • Yanez tranfers to Oregon
Just an update. Oregon is now 17-2 with Brooke as their best pitcher at 8-1, 1.80 era. Oregon with 5 or 6 DI transfers (including its other top pitcher) on its roster is now getting ranking votes. While we are not struggling at 14-10 we are not the team of last year for sure. I understand that the entire “transfer portal” issue will be debated at the next NCAA meeting. I read that to mean it will be expanded not reduced, but what do I know? Not much. . . .

Actually GoAggies, I believe the Fresno transfer only had a torn meniscus, not a torn ACL. Big diference!
  • WBB: Aggies (14-11, 9-3) at Hawaii (14-10, 8-3) 9 pm PT Saturday, February 22nd
I wonder about the Nina broken hand injury outcome. At first she was going to get a MRS. then no. If it was the broken hand injury we will never know due to privacy rules. Was she denied by the NCAA? Anyway, good to get her back on the court.

I did notice that the Hi commentators were very complimentary regarding the Aggies and the program in general, especially of Jen Gross. They seemed to want to talk about the Aggies players backgrounds and where they came from (probably they are SOCAL guys anyway) More than they did about HI players. Even knew about our recruits on the bench. Its what you get when you win!
  • 2020 Recruiting List
Wow. We go from one of the smallest DLs in the BSC to probably one of the biggest. Schasa looks like he is ready to play D1 football. Excellent recruiting by the Hawk. Did he start out at Ark State?
  • EWU faculty report critical of football program and athletic department budget.
OK to go. Just carry that $20! Actually with inflation make that a $100 bill. You will be fine.
  • WBB: UC Irvine (8-16, 4-6) at UCD (13-10, 8-2) 2:30 pm Saturday, February 15th
The new Sage spin move! Totally a new thing the last few games. Did she teach herself? Did a coach help her? A lot of long distant FaceTime calls to Russia? Whatever, whoever, this is something that could help the Aggies win out this season. Amazing player development happened right before our eyes.
  • Daytime basketball game?
Just a question: do the red shirts travel on all road trips?
  • WBB: UC Irvine (8-16, 4-6) at UCD (13-10, 8-2) 2:30 pm Saturday, February 15th
Stobbart came very close to her third double double. Looks like she’s got the Morgan spin going for her now!
  • EWU faculty report critical of football program and athletic department budget.
The EWU/CWU/WWU story is confusing. EWU and CWU are about the same size:12,000 students, but WWU is much larger at 16,000+ And is much moe highly regarded academically. But it is DII as is CWU. I know from a niece who went to WSU medical school in Spokane that this is not a nice place to live. Crime is way high and Cheney is just as bad. A lot of drug trafficking and just bad stuff going on the streets. Students are advised to always have a $20 bill to pay a mugger if confronted in the parking structure at night. EWU is struggling with decreasing enrollment for these reasons. I doubt they will cut football, but things are not good at EWU that is for sure.
  • MBB: UC Santa Barbara (16-8, 5-4) at UCD (10-15, 4-5) 7 pm Thursday, February 13th
BGA I totally agree that Paula can be hilarious. But my favorite in that genre is Sarah Silverman. A little more raunchy and political than Paula, but a very very funny stand up. What a one two show that they could put on!
  • WBB: Aggies (8-9, 3-1) at Cal Poly (4-11, 1-3) 2 pm Saturday, January 25th
No. Just an assumption because she seems to clearly qualify based on the injury and number of games she played in 2019.
  • WBB: Aggies (8-9, 3-1) at Cal Poly (4-11, 1-3) 2 pm Saturday, January 25th
From what I have heard, Jones’ strength is as a great defensive player with a huge wingspan. Lily will score a lot of points. We move Stobbart to a wing and let her fire away from the 3! Remember, we get Nina back next year as well. What a line up!
  • WBB: Aggies (8-9, 3-1) at Cal Poly (4-11, 1-3) 2 pm Saturday, January 25th
Stobbart is now becoming the biggest headache for our opponents for the rest of conference play. How can you stop a 5 on the perimeter that can.knock down the 3?. No way. OK leave the paint open. Let Konrad and friends pound in the paint. Good gsme Aggies.
  • Morgan Bertsch signing with Dallas wings....
My home town girl (Santa Rosa HS) best Aggie ever. Maybe she can come to Davis and teach the fake left-right back spin to basket to our new bigs. It is an impossible shot to defend. It apparently worked in Russia. Maybe our government should look into this as a defensive ploy?
  • Aggie Back Field
Regarding Dixon’s return into the Aggie mantle, I have some observations that are a bit more credible since my dear brother is a Fresneck. Tedford was a great coach, but his best attribute as a coach was his incredible charisma as a recruiter and motivater. Even as his health began to fail sometime back, he was always there with his players even as his assistants really took over the main coaching duties for FS. He would recall about sleeping on an air mattress in his office at cal when he worked so late he did not have the energy to go home. So, there you have it as to why Dixon may have gone to FS. With Tedford gone FS is just a very different place. Also, UC Davis is a much better place for a quality person like Dixon IMHO.
  • WBB: UC Santa Barbara (8-11, 3-3) at UCD (10-9, 5-1) 2:30 pm Saturday, February 1st
Great night for the Ags. I will sleep very well tonight.

Why don’t we go back to using a fullback? Hawk was a fullback. The Niners use Kyle Juszczyk very effectively at that position.
