• Will the Dobbs decision affect woman’s athletes?
Interesting that there is apparently no interest in woman’s sports on this site on the issue of reproductive rights, abortion rights, Anti abortion laws, and forced birth laws. I would’ve thought we would be more . . say interested in this topic. . . .
  • Gilliam Named Preseason Big Sky Offensive MVP also Gilliam, Pettek & Parks on 1st Team
We we’re great until Rodrigues went down and we never recovered from that. Hawk has an offense that must rely on a quick quarterback that will improvise like jake was able to do. If we get a guy like that again we can do well next season. I never thought that barrier’s OL was all that good but look what he did. Joke about his Fanny but he absolutely killed us and all,of the rest of the BSC. Praying for a new and talented QB next season. Hope it happens but I will be in Ireland watching all of their very entertaining events not the Aggies.
  • Brooke Yanez and Oregon softball
Is there any limit on how many transfers a player can make and still be eligible? What would happen if so many kids transferred rendering their old team ineligible for lack of players? Very unlikely scenario but possible. Didn’t Oregon lose a lot of players to Texas when it’s coach moved to Texas? I believe that was why they poached Brooke in the first place.
  • Idaho State Assistant coach arrested on murder charges
If barriere was so bad not to get drafted, why was he so exceptional in the BSC? He was fast, he could throw and he was very effective against the Aggies. Just asking . . .
  • Idaho State Assistant coach arrested on murder charges
Will Barriere be drafted? Speaking of EWU. Probably not real high. It yes is my guess.

So I think the OT board is off line. Just want to say that Aggie alum Sister Simone Campbell ‘77 was just awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by the president at the White House and our university has yet to even mention it. I met sister Simone one time when she was a 1L and she was a person you could just tell was to be a formidable warrior in the fight for human rights. And she did that and more. I was told she played a decent second base on the gals team. Never saw it. But it qualifies now for this thread! Go Nuns On The Bus!!!
  • USC, UCLA eyeing Big Ten move by 2024
And what about the “minor sports”? Can you imagine the. COSTs of sending uclas baseball team to Maryland for games? Woman’s crew? What about their classroom time. Crazy. Why didn’t the PAC 12 comish see this coming? Teresa Gould? Maybe they both are now looking for new employment opportunities. It’s all about the money and nothing for the athletes. Sad and sick IMHO.
  • USC, UCLA eyeing Big Ten move by 2024
Stanford and cal ADs must be shaking in their boots to be so blind to this. Especially cal with its horrible deficit of $400 +/- I exPect that the PAC *** is a goner. Stanford could go independent but not cal. Arizona teams and Utah Colorado are dead meat. So sad and all just for the money.

So Texas four star going to sac. Saw this awhile ago and thought nothing of it. Now bee has it on their sports front page. A done deal. I certainly have nothing against this kid. Seems good. But there is just something odd about this that’s not right. Came to sac because the sac d line coach comes from St. Louis as does he? Really. . . .
  • 2023 Football Recruiting
OK the Point I wanted to make was most of our graduate programs scrutinize their applicants. It is not just some write in do you have the grades and your in type of thing. I am speculating that it is reasonable to expect a question from an admissions person at UCD to simply ask “do you have any other expectations from your master degree” or other “activities”. These people aren’t stupid. A 245 pound guy comes in to the psych department from Texas? There are going to be questions. That is all I wanted to say. Does sac do the same? Frankly I don’t know. But I doubt it is as rigorous as any UC school. My former post was badly written I admit.
  • 2023 Football Recruiting
Sac announced a new transfer form Texas no less. played 4 years there. No idea if he is a grad transfer or not. I don’t think we will ever do well with grad transfers. There are no UCD masters programs that I know of who would tolerate a transfer just because he wants to play football. It’s been o a few years, but my daughter (a UCD English grad) who had good but not great grades never got accepted into the masters program in English at davis. Wound up at San Diego State. She had to undergo face to face interviews with UCD professors and she said it was very stressful. If we get or got any they will have to be excellent and serious students.
  • Graduation cut short, 7 taken to the hospital
The kids will look back at their entire UCD experience when reminiscing about their college days. Hey, it was a climate change event and they all relate to that. Yes, it turned out pretty bad, but hey they survived. Now people want to move it to the sac kings venue? None of these students will want that.
  • Graduation cut short, 7 taken to the hospital
OK just move it back inside or do it at night. End of story. I bet the kids will like to add this “horrible experience that I survived” to their resumes. I am a “survivor” of this great horror. I think we should move on. IMHO
  • Aggie Launch Day and Aggie EVO
Well said AggieFinn2. You make some very valid points.
  • Aggie Launch Day and Aggie EVO
I believe that the EVO program was initiated to aid student athletes in getting ready for jobs post graduation. In a D-1 era that has become much more important because the time student athletes spend in training and practice is significantly greater. In my time as a student I had buddies who were never able to attend many study hall or cram sessions because of their obligations as athletes. I often wondered how they even managed to pass some classes. Plus, if their teams reached the playoffs or post season competition it’s was usually around mid terms or finals. They were taking their finals on planes or buses! In other words EVO was intended to correct a problem not elevate certain students over others. Therefore, I fully hope that EVO is going to be very effective in leveling the “playing field” if you will for student athletes.
  • WLAX to Pac12
Don’t get me wrong. I liked Ron Goulds personality and he recruited very well. I just think his coaching ability was very limited. I wish him well. Teresa is obviously on a different track.
  • WLAX to Pac12
Looks like Teresa Gould is doing quite well these days. Now a top as administrator at the pac 12. Where is her husband now?
  • Rankings and theme days
Actually I don’t think they went very far. Mostly the Bay Area. We got the Clerici brothers from napa. Slater brothers. Great. And they were all excellent athletes. But keep in mind this is a deep field for recruiting.
  • 'Elite' UC Davis mascot ousted, replaced with cow
Good post agalum. One grandstanding student should not be the driving force of a long standing tradition. 12% of current students overturning many, many years of a mascot. OK so I want a goat to be our mascot? Make a big bunch of noise. Rally 12% of the students for a vote. Goats are great. Goats have may attributes. Easier to handle that cows. Give milk. What else can you possibly want in a mascot? So we just switch mascots from year to year.
    ? Ridiculous!
