I watched this game and did not enjoy it. Yes we won, but how we did it was abysmal. We are a very poor football team. Yes we have some great athletes, but for the most part we are very thin in that department I.e OL, DB, DL, and RBs. I really don’t know if we have realistic expectations that we can ever recruit a sufficient number of quality players at this level to actually succeed in the FCS.

I think hawk had a nightmare. Woody Hayes came in the night: “two out of three bad things happen when you try and pass the football. . . . “ you all know the rest. Except when you don’t have anyone to run the ball or a OL that’s not there yet. I agree with the foregoing better minds. We are a work in progress
  • Greetings Aggie Fans
Happened to us for 4+ years. Not fun at all.
  • LaRue Softball upgrades begin!
Maybe I’m wrong, but no tennis courts anywhere near LaRue field; ditto no football practice facility near Dobbins. But they could be there now, haven’t been there in awhile. I would like to see pics of the LaRue upgrades.
  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
Well it was a hard game to watch. I agree with movie that the play calling was highly suspect going from tried and true passing game to a very lame running attack. I suspect that the OC will say defensively that “you cant always throw the football, you need to mix it up.” But if you have one of the best QBs in the league passing wise and the best WR, it is a sin of neglect not to use that advantage all of the time. YES, PASS THE BALL ALL THE TIME! When you have no real running game. Playing a real game is not the time to play practice with your running backs who have not as of yet proven themselves on the field. I know that the analogy is not very exact, but Patton in WW2 always led his army with the very best units at the tip of the spear of the attack. Not some unit that “needed some work or to confuse the enemy”. He won his battles on this belief. Hawk needs to take over the offense. Enough to said.
  • NFL Films: JT O'Sullivan NFL journey, UC Davis & PhD
I absolutely agree! Where is JT now? I’d love to follow his career. Great guy!
  • Week 8: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
The new and scientific practice on these games is to come in right before the game as O2 acclimation issues do not start for 24-48 hours anyway. That way there is no acclimation issue physiologically at game time. Also, very clear air is a plus.
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
OK ban Bossy Cow Cow and we will have a protest. Maybe the alums should sing it. It’s a very funny chant our students should experience to sing to their children when they can. It is NOT an embarrassment, but part of our culture. My wife’s grandfather was a WW1 vet and UCD grad (1921) always recalled it as he was dairy rancher in El Centro and could relate. She even remembered it!! Sung to her.
  • Field Hockey 1-9
Maybe a nonissue, but their field is right next to the dairy barn area and when the wind shifts. . . Well you get the picture. I heard that the dairy was moving. Any idea when?
  • Week 6: Eastern Washington @ UC Davis
Can’t get Pluto stream. Just shows the Northern Arizona game. Any ideas?
  • Favorite university to visit for away games ?
In my only trip to Fresno for a game. . . The two guys behind me said that they just got out of prison and would I please move quicker forward which I did. The Fresno’s, the backos, the Stockton’s, modesto, they could all get back into the mix if they had easy transportation to the Bay where the jobs are. Therese are not stupid people they just need jobs. That’s why I think that the bullet train will be a great thing. Sorry, a little off message but need to be said IMO.
  • Field Hockey 1-9
New coach just hired 3 months ago? 7 freshman 3 seniors? Not a lot of time to create team chemistry; but hey, woman’s soccer not doing that well either although they are very young as well.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
With all this hype I am very glad that this is an away game. The aggies will go into an unfriendly stadium and will have to shed all the emotion from the PSU game and start new. Whereas Weber will be very excited and driven emotionally to win. We need to be cool, cold and calculating for this game, especially at QB. If we do that we can win.
  • Week 3: UC Davis @ Portland State
I missed the game is there anyway to get a restream?
  • 2018 US News Rankings
USNews claims vaguely that it uses "algorithms" that are fair to all that it rates. But, then admits that such things as "reputation", etc. are based upon subjective reports from those that may well have a bias toward their own college (hence older universities win out-I.e. more reporters). Items like "student teacher ratio" are easily manipulated. Student diversity is not a criteria. Alumni "giving" is part of the equation when it has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of education. I could go on an on and many have done it better than me before. With all the UCs (except Berkeley and UCLA) its a roll of the dice year to year just like it is with the "top five." So I have to take some solace that Stanford is probably humiliated with It's #5 rating this year..
  • Week 2: University of San Diego @ UC Davis
I have a technical question regarding the no huddle offense: is the QB calling audibles and then the snap is called with a hand clap? I obviously could not hear anything on the streaming video but it seems to work. Also, it seeemed that the fly was called a few times. Seeemed to work as well.
  • Week 2: University of San Diego @ UC Davis
    Ditto Ivy League- "leadership grants".
  • Week 2: University of San Diego @ UC Davis
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the last time USD came to davis Harbaugh was the coach and I think it was the first year we played in the new stadium. The visiting team was in front of the aggie pack. The toreros had a great QB, but forget his name. Game was close. Pack was all over their QB from the sidelines with clever chants. Harbaugh was incensed and screamed at the crowd. His QB got really upset started into the stands to take on the pack. He was restrained by fellow players to the delight of the Aggie fans. Chaos loomed. I think we won, but I have never liked Harbaugh ever since that game and I am a devoted 49er fan. Rumor had it that the referees told our AD to move the visitor team to the other side of the field or they would not return and I think that happened. Is it still the case?
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Diego State
Dunning is getting old and too serious. In the good old days he'd say Ags by 1 and not worry about his record . . . . Sad to see, even if he might be correct.
  • Game day in SLO
Yes, sorry for the mustangs. #23 losing to an unranked team at home not good. I will say that if this was an aggie game on August 26 30+ days before the kids come to school no one would show up for the game. But poly had a good crowd. From what I saw poly still has way more talent than we do by far. Hope I'm wrong.
