Speaking of the bee, rumors are that the bee did not want mayor steinberg to Agee to name the newly planned sacramento tech/innovation center “Aggie Square.” Bee liked the concept very much but felt the name was too UC Davis centric. To his credit, chancellor May stuck to his guns. Don’t know if the bee wanted it named “Hornet Square” or not. May seems to have the right stuff so far.

Bad shooting by a good shooting team is entirely mental. Jen has to know this and get it fixed. We took too much time off the passes. Hesitated too much. Skunked around the perimeter too much. This is fixable. Dame those finals!!!

That’s a lot of facts and figures about a lot of players; but did we get the players to improve our very poor defensive play this year. I guess there were people who felt bad about of Carson, but we have a very good QB. And a not so bad offense. We had a terrible defense. Was anything done to rectify that?

I hate these Christmas break games. I hope Jen gets her team ready for this one, as UCF could sneak up on our gals; certainly, the men did not play well against USF and looked distracted at times.

I watched the game and from the start didn’t like what i saw. Just something different this game. Not the chemistry, not the movement and not the 3 going in. Chima was 2-3 teamed and did not do well. And when you don’t convert the FTs which we did not you have this as a result. But, the season is long and we will see.

Sac bee had a fine article about a Placer County HS football player who was homeless and still played and did well in class. I am reminded that we had a star defensive lineman who was also homeless as a college player and lived in Hickey during his last year in college. I am dating myself with this as it was a very long time ago. This player was drafted and played for the (I believe) the Raiders or Chargers. So, this is a quiz: what was his name? Where is he now? I know the answer to the first question but not the second.

Great story in the DE about watching the Eaton twins play together at St Marys. Appaently, they actually smile during games and especially when together. I love that! Great fast break together as well. Also, it seems we have 4 scholarships to give for next year and we have only announced 2. I wonder what coach Gross has on her mind to fill those spots? She certainly knows Canada; could she be reaching out internationally?
