• Considering a new Business
Agreed. I don't know, I walk downtown and I feel like there is something missing downtown. We need a central place to hang out watch Davis sports, get beer or burger, but mostly stay to watch the game. Let's say in couple years Davis makes a run in the NCAA tournament, wouldn't it be great to have a place downtown where we can all gather and watch the game? I just think more spirit is needed. I'm just trying to figure out if I'm nutz or are there other fans who would like something like this.
  • Present and Future Schedules
    Can we get an update?

We should also include a Wine Tasting room. I'm telling you most visitors would love to get a chance to try our local wines being so close to Napa. And since we are the #1 viticulture school in the world, I think this would do really well.
  • Considering a new Business
Yes, unfortunately, I've heard similar stories about downtown. I miss the Grad. I did bartend my way through college so I'm experienced in the industry. It would be a simple Aggie bar that serves not just the university but the community at large. It would be the place to be for a big game. Maybe set up an outdoor viewing area for big games too.

Sure, but when push came to shove they kept playing in the PAC right? Same thing.
  • Stadium Renovation hopes, fears, expectations
I didn't even think about a tasting room! That is an even better idea! Imagine a tasting room with the latest wine from local farms...add in some great cheese and vegetable trays...man that would be nice. Another thought would be to put a playground at one of the end zones. Make a grass slide down the hill for the kids. Nothing too big but classy and fun.
  • Stadium Renovation hopes, fears, expectations
I would keep both sides grass. It makes the stadium unique. You could build up another level on the home and away sides that would create enough seats for the move. One aspect that really needs to be fixed is the cell tower coverage. More cell towers or even a couple hot spots for fans to connect to the internet is sorely needed. There should also be a UC Davis store in the stadium. Food options also need to increase. I really like bar top corner with the stand or elevated seats. Let's look at getting a sponsor like Mondavi or another wine maker to sponsor the "wine corner" - remind viewers and visitors we are the #1 viticulture program in the world.
  • FCS national championship to move to FirstBank Stadium (vanderbilt) for 2026-2027
I would love to see this get played in California one day.
  • Attendance
Next time I'm showing up in my Barney Dinosaur costume...get those kids attention!
  • Attendance
Ah yeah....I was there...still got one of my old Rec Hall t shirts
  • Electric Vehicles
Rivian is very well made. They are 100% American made. I've taken it camping and it did well.

I think that elitist attitude that was prevalent in the old Pac10 is gone. Although, I used to laugh when Stanford, Cal, USC, and UCLA used to talk about academics but kept Arizona St in the conference. San Diego St and Fresno St are both better academic schools than ASU. There is a high probablity that the ACC pushes Stanford and Cal out when the next alignment comes about. Those programs don't want to travel to California for league game either.
  • Is there any Recruit news?
Good stuff thanks! Maybe we can get a recruiting section with offers/commits for UCD on it.
  • Electric Vehicles
We bought a Rivian earlier this year and love it.

I think the bigger problem is the BIG doesn't want to expand anymore because it will further dilute the pie ($). Don't forget big tv really wants to create a new FBS tier league with only 50 or so teams in it. Cal/Stanford won't make the list. USC/UCLA will be the only California teams invited. This will create a new tier system in football and where I see the California league coming about.

I think this move is just the beginning. I think there will be another round of movement in the FBS that will result in new conferences. It's no secret that Stanford, Cal, USC, and UCLA are not in love with their move to the ACC and BIG. The travel across country for league games makes no sense. I think within the decade a new PAC or "California Conference" will take shape. I could see something like this:

    UC Davis
    Stanford
    Cal
    UCLA
    USC
    San Diego St
    Fresno St
    Sacramento St
    San Jose St
    CalPoly

Others to consider: UNLV, Reno, Oregon St,
  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
Hey I want to apply for this job! It looks amazing!
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
I think our basketball teams are going to get much harder looks by highly ranked California kids. The future is bright!
  • Aggies to the Mountain West
This is unbelievable! How freakin exciting!!
  • Quarterfinals Week 16: UC Davis (11-2) @ South Dakota (10-2)
I like the fact the game will be indoors. This will be test for sure, but I think Davis can score some points on this team.
