I know that the list excluded pre 2000 but 1977 against Reno was a major win and tremendously exciting for the home crowd.

- Tulsa was a great win. Almost perfect game by Hunter

-I remember driving into campus at NC State to be able to watch the game against Boise (campus had espn3 access). Great goal line stand in first half and drew close in fourth quarter.

-both Montana wins were big. Saw this years in person at what is a great venue.

But Stanford 2005 had to be the most amazing win in program history. Especially since it was a dominant win statistically. Held Stanford to less than 200 yards as I recall. Game was not on tv, pretty sure.

Man, he’s gone to the dark side. I don’t know the full story but it seemed Plough really liked Dixon, and seemingly at the expense of Gale. My guess is that Plough valued blocking at tight end - a lot of 12 packages and maybe that was not Gales forte. Maybe Gale would have been better used by not having him bulk up and just using him as a tall rangy and fast wide out. In my opinion, Gale was one of the most underutilized talent on the team.

sac State’s president is in sales and marketing. I’ve always like the Dilbert cartoon that likened marketing to “liquor and guessing” although Wood is more smooth smoke blowing. Davis has the better leader (Chancellor May) by far.

Agreed about the decision not to punt on the first half. I don’t think NDSU missed a single tackle - that was a major factor as some runs were 1 missed tackle from a big run if not TD.

yah. For the athlete and player Mellot is, his passing skills, including reading coverages was not great tonight. That’s just from relying on his legs historically which has worked, but Miller played the more complete game and was much better in the pass game. That was the difference tonight.

Cam Miller has played a phenomenal game. Very smart veteran QB.

NDSU tackling has been excellent. Prevented some big plays despite the Mellot run . A real classic going.

NDSU controlling the game on first quarter 14-0. Only 1 possession for Montana State in first quarter (will get ball with a minute or so left in 1st quarter.

Great audible for Miller when MSU only had 4 in the box (no nose guard up middle) and no backers up the middle. Miller went 60 yards or so for TD. Bad scheme by MSU. Total bust.

looks like 3rd or ? chance. I have to chuckle when I see the word “committed” in all caps for dudes who have been at two or three schools. Sort of like a guy “committing” to his third or fourth marriage.

I really liked Hunter Rodriguez. He had some wheels. That season (2021) was off to a great start, then Hunter was concussed at Weber. That Idaho State game was weird, Hunter did not have a good game and I wonder if his concussion and laying out a couple of games affected him. The keys were turned over to Miles and he struggled a bit that year and the SDSU game was painful. Also lost the causeway. I agree that it would be good to have a QB who can extend plays and run when necessary. The flip side is to not be a pull it down and run after first read is not there QB. That impairs development and risks injuries.

I guess Cotton taken due to size. Personally I hope Bains ends up staying. Great tackler.

Agreed. They have jobs and families. Love their podcasts - a great inaugural season, hope they can continue with football next season.

If you go to New Orleans, I’d highly recommend the fairly new WW II museum, although that sort of thing is not what most people go to New Orleans for. It is outstanding. However Jan./Feb. is a much better time to go - very hot and humid in the summer months.
