not gonna lie, I know this may be a temporary stadium but I don’t really see how it’s that much better than the current stadium other than a few extra rows… I don’t really understand what’s taken them so long

Very happy about this news. Right where we need to be. Would like to see some university news about renovations or such to point in the direction of an invite eventually.

I would prefer we announce an FBS move with or before sac state.

I don’t think a single person on this thread cares how much you make dude. Banter and disrespect are different things. I think everyone in this sub tracks sac because it’s a fun rivalry and it’s interesting seeing who they bring in and what next years competition will look like (especially with an interesting hire like they just got). I think most people here want sac to succeed as well (I don’t know anyone who would want to move conferences, change schedules, etc and NOT have sac every year). I think people on here also are interested in observing and commenting on sac state stadium and larger athletics department news because yall are right across the causeway, share similar media markets, are rivals in sports, and constantly interact as school entities. I don’t think it’s disrespectful to critique some of the negotiating/ communication moves that sac has made in relation to stadium and conference announcements. Most people here want to see sac succeed, and seeing some ways of making moves from the sac side as over the top, unrealistic, or reckless comes from a place of interest and care not wanting y’all to collapse or something.

In all seriousness, good hire, should keep the causeway classic competitive!

why do you think the ft we’re so off? I didn’t even think that was a major issue early this year.

dude seems like a nice guy but everytime he has a press conference or posts something on twitter, he sounds like he’s gonna say “just wait! If you give me 5 months, the best, the greatest, car (stadium and conference option) will be revealed! And get this! You get this deal and this tax write off blabababa”

thanks for this. It would make sense that the MW wants 10 members and Davis seems to be a likely plug in for that 10th once NIU commits

That sounded sarcastic, I really do love those dudes watching them communicate on the field yesterday must make the parents proud.

I’m curious if this move to MW for everything except for football at first will backfire at all. I can totally imagine people I know seeing the headline “Davis joins MW” and then being really really confused when we’re playing the same schools past 2026. I guess it’s a big PR thing more than anything but everyone I’ve talked to who’s just a casual fan asked me when we’re gonna go to a bowl game or that they want to go see unlv at alligent when we announced we were going to the MW in the first place lol

yeah I’m still a little confused… Im just thinking no matter if we announced now or next year, we would still be FCS playoff ineligible and for the same amount of years?

Do you folks see sac moving to big west now that Aggies left? Totally unrelated but was curious… I know they seem pretty solidified in the whole big sky conference but..

if that’s the case I’m just a bit confused on why every team switching conference wouldn’t announce non-football membership first?
