First day of the draft! Predictions if lan or any aggies get drafted (in general not just today)?
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
I’m not trying to bag on sac state, I’m seriously not, but if the donations on give day for them stay this low… they may have a problem. Moving to FBS and all the buzz around and getting less than 4,000 dollars for both football and the stadium.fpy7yaluh01z5oov.png

    Nearing 90k! Fantastic!
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
This comment on the sac forum sums it up for me: "He hasn’t identified where the new track will be located. And if track is a priority (boo) then where will it go? If he is adding padding to the current bleachers, then he is not replacing the bleachers or infrastructure. Or removing the track. If they were really going to remove the track and pull the stands 30yds closer to the field, they wouldn’t incur adding padding to the current setup.

Quickly, morphing into Nevada X2 type stadium.

I can’t take any of this too seriously with a track in the football stadium. What started as grandeur and never been done at Sac State is slowly being baited and switched into FBS light. Just enough to get by. No wonder, nPAC knew better. MWC knew better and took the team that has a real stadium that can be added to easily and looks like a stadium. Not padded bleachers used for the Rose Bowl parade one time."

Yeah as much as I personally like our FBS aspirations… I would much rather be in the MW and eventually join for football than go independent right now. I just think with all that’s going on in CFB rn, this move for sac is really unknown territory

    so freakin cool!
  • UC Davis Athletic Director Rocko DeLuca signs five-year contract extension
Well deserved! A great write up of his accomplishments too. As a student, getting responses via email from him and seeing him around campus (same with the chancellor) sound like small things but are really nice from a local standpoint.
  • Cal Baptist Officially Joins Big West Conference, bringing with them the newest arena in the BW.
I for one, am very happy we are leaving the Big West after a move like this. Not that Cal Baptist is the worst move ever, but beyond that new arena, I don't think this move brings much. The possibility that they could add more just makes me think about an alternative universe where Hawaii left, we stayed, and we got stuck with more dilution to the conference. Even with schools leaving the MW, I am more excited about an add like UTEP than Cal Baptist.

I just feel like its still a trek for a lot of students or families, especially with the weekend that this years tourney was. Why not keep the game in so cal where fans can drive or take public transit to the game for the night?

I will be brutally honest that going to MW conference games with consistent crowds above 3000-5000 will be very very welcome. I love the character of some big west stadiums but...

I just dont understand having the big west championship outside of california... actually makes zero sense, especially for a fan perspective.
