See I agree BUT I think if the team ever wants to move up and play in the MW they should obviously prioritize box and high-revnue seating and add some extra seating as I would assume higher interest (I’m talking get the stadium to like 18 or 20k or something in non-box seats).

I think a Davis stadium that size would be a much better idea than a sac 40k stadium with no conference plans

Going to have to/hoping that the mountain west next year brings some energy with new members that are more name recognizable/better competition next year, but I think once big west play starts attendance should boost.
Slightly unrelated to basketball but the PR confusion of our basketball team and every other sport being in the mountain west and not playing a single mountain west team playing our football team and explaining that we are still in the big sky will be interesting to manage. I feel like it’s so hard to explain the big west/big sky situation we are in already and people understand the big west doesn’t have football….

Yeah the marketing was lacking in my opinion…. Didn’t see any buildup/hype around campus for the opening game or this first d1 matchup really. Maybe a few posts on social media? The rain also may have kept some folks at home (considering like 900 tickets were sold). Granted, I think most students still don’t know who NDSU is…especially basketball fans.

Not a bad first game. Some serious issues finishing close to the hoop but great 3 shots and at decently high scoring. The defense wasnt terrible either but I felt similar issues in defending the rim in the same places we had trouble shooting.

Agreed! I am currently dealing with 3 essays due in the next 5 days so I'm going to try and finish one of them and get out there. Most people I think should be past midterms mostly, so the turnout hopefully is good!

It is obviously the first game of the season but seems like a bit of the same issues as last year.

okay how does an athletic department with a 40 million dollar budget STILL not have a person mixing the microphone right

I really just struggle with this narrative around Pinnick considering that he beat out the other qbs in training camp, is a redshirt freshman during a potential "rebuild" year due to injuries or new players and has still continued to protect the ball quite well through the games so far, and stack up yardage. We also have scored impressive numbers of points in each of our games so far (including the ISU game last weekend). While I agree at times he held the ball longer than he should, we are also used to Hastings who's whole thing was these short-medium range quick shots. I am not going to blame our defense totally with how many injuries we have, but in the last game it was more of a problem of them giving up points and special teams struggling than it is worth placing blame on Pinnick.
