• FCS Playoffs Round 2: #9 Rhode Island (11-2) @ #8 UC Davis (8-3)
The rhode island board has me chuckling. I found
I know this is FCS football but looking through UC Davis’s schedule, I haven’t heard of 3/4 of their opponents schools. Can’t tell if they beat anyone good
to be especially funny. I guess its east vs west coast biased but Long Island University, Hampton and Bryant are not exactly much better known teams (I will admit I dont know a single person who knew who utah tech was before we played them)

 maybe should have chosen a less close to controversial donor
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
The University Farm School (now UC Davis) played against the Nevada Sagebrushers (University of Nevada) in their first-ever college football game. The game took place in Carson City, Nevada, in 1915, and the Aggies won with a score of 14-0.

I heard lane kiffin has decided to become the Mondavi Co-Offensive coordinator at UC Davis after the Mondavi family and dude who created pom have donated $30 million per year!
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
I haven't had a chance to watch but what do they say about UND over TTU? I swear the entire fcs media was acting like Tennessee Tech was mistreated for their rank and complaining about focus on SOS but then they got blown out

This is really bad even with all the festivities.
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
UC Davis vs URI. I think URI is a bigger draw than CCSU tbh

bummer for sure but good for him. Dude has huge upside potential wherever he goes next year. Davis is a running back factory.
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
lots of caa fans still think they are a “power 3” FCS conference…it’s just not. That’s not a knock on URI but I’m just saying it’s not surprising how the committee decided.

Update folks! Got 3 family members and 4 friends planning to go, up from a whopping 2 people last year.

Yeah I agree with movielover. It was like laughably bad in how the marketing was for that last game. I went and trying/talking to people after the bad crowd in class, I was amazed how little the word got out.

Honestly I dont want them to take him and I agree its too early in his hc career to make a move like this and leave a place like Davis he seems deeply committed to, but the whole thing about Davis being a perennial FCS playoff participant and not getting all this credit and getting fired as OC at Boise is poorly researched journalism. Boise was a shitshow under the old hc and most boise fans admit plough probably wasnt at fault. The thing about players that could move to the power 5 level is a stupid argument too. Its well know Plough is a really good recruiter (look at some of his boise state players and davis alum now). Also, I think the whole "he didnt build the program" is a weak argument at best. You could make this argument about a thousand coaches moving up that were previous coaches at decent programs. Hawk obviously deserves a lot of credit but objectively plough deserves a ton of credit at most of his coaching jobs (especially this HC gig).
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
I’m with you on wanting sac to succeed. I have family friends who went to sac and they are a fun team to watch (even beyond the football and basketball, I like the baseball team and volleyball team) but this whole weirdness in messaging and actions between the AD and Pres is just dysfunctional and puts both the community, students and student athletes in odd positions. It just seems to me like either people close to the university or the people there are hearing/believing possibilities that either are not happening in the immediate future, at all, or are just trying to rush things along. I feel like it’s a pretty simple idea to not over promise without a definitive plan to deliver. The longer I watch all this sac state stuff the more it seems like that idea was not followed.
  • WBB: UC Davis (3-2) at Sac State (5-1), Monday, 11/24 at 6:30 PM
I honestly think sac fits in well with the big west. I cannot remember why they were in the big sky and not in the big west to begin with for all sports? Was this when they moved up to d1?

I am so excited for the Davis move to the MW. Some of the arenas have been on my bucket list for years and now we get to play those teams year in and year out. My family already is planning on making a Wyoming road trip at some point (and go to Nevada and SJSU games more often than literally any big west team as of now considering we all live in NorCal). The Pit at UNM is also an awesome venue. UTEP will be fun, I know the architecture of the campus is Bhutanese architecture.
