Impressed with Hastings. Managed the game well, wasn't shy about dishing it out to his best playmakers and was very accurate. Now he just needs to find confidence to push it further down the field a bit more.

True story.

Yes, Eastern Illinois, where Tony Romo went, and is Saints HC Sean Payton's alma mater as well. Interesting story on a EIU/UC Davis connection, former Aggie Left Guard Jeff Hoover was coaching offensive line out there in the late 2000s. Tragically, he was killed in a car accident returning home from a 1st Round Playoff game in Carbondale, IL. That following spring one of his linemen, Otis Hudson, was drafted in the 5th Round by Cincinnati.

I love athletes who can kind of do it all, they play one thing professionally, but grew up a 3 or 4 sport athlete. You get so much benefit not just with your skills and coordination, but also just your general competitiveness.

Ugh, PSU is such a dud out in Hillsboro. So sad to see the Timbers kick them out of downtown, where watching football and AAA baseball was something I grew up with.

I enjoyed Wa-Griz, great venue and great fans. The Walkup Skydome is a real engineering marvel, timber dome lattice, very fitting for the local area, and of course going to Poly's beautiful palace as dusk glows so lovely around kickoff, very nice spot to watch a game.

There have only been a few transcendent athletes at the FCS level, the last one I recall was EWU's Taiwan Jones...who could've given any FBS player a run for his money in terms of pure speed.

Watching Barriere play quarterback is coming close to that scenario...kid's a natural playmaker.
