• Aggie Pride: A UC Davis Football Podcast

See if you can track Kevin Blue down - curious to hear his perspective on how the transition is now shaping up. I think he's up in Canada running Admin for Canada Soccer. Maybe Jake Maier might know how to contact him.

Biggest topic I want to hear about is how well and when the transition will occur - realistic expectations for turnout given the necessary stadium upgrades, and of course, how do we match up in the Mountain West?
  • Looking forward to 2025
UC Davis @ Washington will kickoff at 8 pm on the BIG10 Network. Ugh.

That Blocker film was a fun watch. Not only fast, but he refuses to go down, and uses his blockers effectively.

Beverly V has the perfect OT frame for an 18 year old - long, not too heavy with room to mold. He is relentless with finishing blocks, which is a must as an OL. Hudl

Sam Haener related to Jake Haener?
  • Looking to next season: what games away or home are you most likely to attend?
    Away Games:
50/50 on the Montgomery game, good buddy who I was going to meet up with has had his circumstances change quite drastically, so we likely can't go together which means I likely can't make that trip...However, this makes it easier for me to attend the at Utah Tech game and the @ Washington game. Going to see if some of the Portland clan can carpool up to Seattle, PA --- let me know.

With my niece soon to be attending Montana State starting this fall, I want to get up to Bozeman for mid-November, but it's...Bozeman in mid-November, we'll see.

I'll be at most home games, SochorField and I may pony up for a tailgate spot this season.
    vs. Sac is a no-brainer.

  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
I loved the Aggies' offseason, but man the craziest story of the off-season is easily what's going on in Sacramento.

A professional football player. Learn fast, play faster, go get 'em Lan.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread

Might get pulled over for running that fast.

Seems like A&M didn't play him at all, did I read that right... 1 special teams snap in 2024?

You can still post x posts - using the old 'Twitter' link, you just have to change the embed code, it's a little tricky, but you can get it to post. Instead of using the actual 'x' page address, replace it with twitter, it'll work.
  • @ Mercer to Open 2025
Football Game Slate to Open the 2025 Season on Saturday, August 23 will be the following -- not entirely sure what time or which network is covering each game:

    Tarleton State @ Portland State
UC Davis vs. Mercer at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, AL
    Incarnate Word @ Nicholls
NC Central @ Southern at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, GA. Interesting note, Center Parc Stadium is the current home of the Georgia State Panthers -- and was formerly known as Turner Field, the home of the Atlanta Braves up until 2016.

    Stanford @ Hawai'i
Kansas State @ Iowa State at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland
    Fresno State @ Kansas
    Sam Houston @ Western Kentucky

There are so many WRs in the Big Ten, the Big 12, the SEC buried at No. 4 / No. 5 on the depth chart who could start in Davis -- assuming they have the prerequisite academic standards to compete in the classroom.
  • @ Mercer to Open 2025

Neutrality, ha, it's in the South and it's a 3 hour drive for Mercer, and a 2 hour gather and haul to SMF, then a 4.5 hour flight to Montgomery with a 1 hour bus load and drop off for Davis. Hardly neutral if you ask me! Still, a great opportunity for the program, and in the spotlight, love it...now let's not suck on the field with all of college football watching.

Did Gbatu Jr. not have a breakout year last year? I mean he caught for 779 yards, including 100+ yd games @ EWU and @ Sac... in a season where Lan was the feature of features in an offense, I'd say Gbatu Jr. has arrived - now it's up to him to be the true #1 and break the 1000 yd mark with a brand new quarterback running things.

What stands out to me in 2024 is Gbatu Jr. catching 1 ball for 4 yards vs. Montana State. Our best players have to step up in the biggest games in 2025, every week will be hell on earth.
  • @ Mercer to Open 2025

Yeah, I remember Anthony Soto, wow, so we have a connection in this game down in Montgomery. I guess I'm not surprised, that's a good thing to know
  • Aggie Pride: A UC Davis Football Podcast
The Aggies have embraced a good chunk of the transfer portal this off-season. Wondering how the team chemistry is with the new guys, especially with most of them vying for a starting/impact role.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread

I'm watching that Sac / Fresno game.

Nice to see Lan had a bidding war for him, in the end I think New England's situation is perfect for his skill set. What an opportunity.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread

Getting the feeling around the college football atmosphere, that some basic NIL laws and regulations are needed, I'm not sure what's in place.

I am glad to see Conklin go.
