Joey Ellis is the prototypical OT from the Hawkins era
  • Conner brothers eligibility lawsuit
6 years - extreme circumstances, 5 years is more or less standard for a redshirt...some of these guys going on Year 7? Grow up, move on - my two cents

From a construction standpoint - we get them all - and it's a mixed bag of who's solid and who just shows up. We've got Sac State, San Jose State, Cal Poly, San Francisco State, UC Davis, Chico State, University of Colorado, San Diego State, Cal and one dude who never even went to college but is one of our best managers because all he has done is work and manage construction since he was 18. One of our Davis guys was a disaster, so it really matters on the quality of the individual and what they're doing. Every work culture is different.

Way to go Coach Pete - well deserved.

Does anybody know the details of the Pinnick deal?

It looks like CvA travelled a lot of the same circles that Plough did as an assistant coach...Strong ties to NAU, Boise State...

Nice to have Soto back in the neighborhood.

I wasn't even aware Hunter had a year of eligibility left. Must be why we're recruiting a kicker.

    Thank the Gods.

WHAT A JOKE AND A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.

    END THE CON.

TE next year is going to be big for the Davis offense, that's my two cents. Whoever fills the role alongside Winston Williams will get significant feature in the scheme, hopefully Winston stays healthy all year but as always, at ANY position, it's important to build quality depth in case that depth has to play most of the season... See Cole Batson 2025.

Based on the offers that Rasor had... it's even conceivable that Davis is playing against him next season if he wins the job.

So, from what I've gathered by all the searchers on the board, we've got 5 offers out there?

RB Jaden Green - Lehigh (Bethlehem, PA, went to Serra)
DB Brian Dukes Jr. - Cal Poly (orig. from San Diego area)
RB Cade Searcy - East Central University (Ada, OK, Searcy is from a town north of Dallas/FW)
TE Cyrus Ellison - South Carolina State (Orangeburg, SC)
K Tyler Haley - Grossmont College (E. of San Diego)

Only thing I can see with Wazzu - is the notion they rebuild the Pac 12 to it's full potential, they've got a lot of the best mid-tier West Coast teams now lined up to reopen the conference in 2026 -- for what it's worth Cam Ward went there before he went to Miami...so it has been a stepping stone location before for the Power 4.

    New Pac Conference:
    Oregon State
    Washington State
    Boise State
    Colorado State
    Fresno State
    San Diego State
    Texas State
    Utah State
    Gonzaga (non-football)

Right now Washington State is still building their schedule for 2026 and 2027. They're playing teams like UW, Kansas State, Kansas, Arizona -- and looks like they've got some FCS matchups with Duquesne and Idaho as well.

Kirby Moore has been named the Head Coach there in the offseason -- he's lead a very prolific offense in Missouri the past few seasons. Moore's a NW guy, born and raised in Prosser, WA and played at Boise State, alongside his brother Kellen - who is the current Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints . He has coached at Washington, Fresno State and Missouri.

Pinnick's getting a good situation there - a lot of growth potential for Years 2 and 3.

First-year Washington State coach Kirby Moore may have found his quarterback to continue the Cougars’ coveted QB tradition.

WSU added former UC Davis QB Caden Pinnick, the 2025 Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year, through the transfer portal, the program announced Tuesday.

WSU also signed wide receiver Tank Hawkins from Florida and safety Jack Bal from Arizona State, and officially announced six additions to Moore’s coaching staff.

As a redshirt freshman this past season, Pinnick completed 70% of his passes for 3,206 yards with 32 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. He also showed a knack for creating plays with his legs, racking up 437 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 125 attempts.

The Loomis, Calif., native earned All-American honors in addition to his freshman of the year recognition.

Hawkins played sparingly through two seasons with the Gators of the SEC.

He made 10 catches for 100 yards, with a long of 36, during his true freshman season before reeling in just two catches for 16 yards last year.

However, Hawkins posted a 4.25 40-yard dash time out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Bal played in just three games over the past three years for the Sun Devils and is the fifth defensive transfer WSU has signed this offseason.

    I don't see anything.

So, If I'm reading the current roster as it stands:
    QBs on Roster are
#5 Treynor Cleeland (will be RFr.)
#14 Axel Eason (will be RFr.)
#17 Damon Wrighster (will be RSo.)
#18 Xzavior Guess (will be RFr.)

After Pinnick left did Wrighster take himself out of the portal?

Quite sloppy indeed - my Dad and I were texting back in forth how undisciplined the Bobcats looked in the second half. Nerves were running high.
  • 2025 FCS Playoffs
Congrats to the Bobcats - proof that no matter what your breed, you need some breaks to get the Championship. The special teams to finish the game were atrocious on both sides --- gotta be air-tight in the kicking game! Hope Plough makes a conscious effort to improve the special teams this off-season, be it through coaching and scheme or finding a kickoff specialist who can actually drill a touchback consistently.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
Wishful thinking isn't a plan, that's for sure. Davis brass need to be realistic, manage their internal emotions, and look at the dollars, cents and overall experience / well being of their student-athletes...and student body. Football at the FBS level requires way more than what we have now - accelerate the trajectory or just stop now. There has to be a massive push...and even then it's going to take a couple more years.
