DL Wale Familoni commits to Air Force
  • Aggies have a new Defensive Coordinator???
Ahh I hadn't heard that one yet. Is that all of the coaching changes for this season?

LB Jaden Dillon was one of the uncommitted/unsigned players visiting last night. Also holds an offer from San Diego.

That's a shame. I know winning plays a large factor in getting butts in the stands, but man... you gotta have the students no matter what. Gotta give yourself a home court/field advantage (they need to show up for football too!)

Like I said, I haven't watched a Davis basketball game in awhile. Harder to catch games on the east coast. I assume crowds have been down considering the team has been iffy.

First game I've tuned in for in a long time. Sloppy play so far and the Pavilion looks and sounds really low energy.

Not that I have insider information or anything, just an observation. I imagine that all of the guys have a shot at winning the job.
  • Aggie Back Field
Leaves the running back depth as:

    Christoph Hirota - Sr
    Ulonzo Gilliam Jr. - Jr
    Troy Spencer - Jr
    Trevor Facey - So
    Daniel McFadden - So
    Jeremiah Chukwudobe - RFr
    Peyton Dixon - RFr
    Josh Ward - Fr

It really could be anyone's game to step up with Gilliam.
  • Aggie Back Field
Heartbreaking that the injuries have taken this much of a toll on him. His presence will definitely be missed in the backfield. It will be interesting to see how the RB depth works out this next season.

  • 2020 Recruiting List
Oh definitely. I'm not saying young guys SHOULDN'T get the chance, just that it's harder when there are established veterans in the mix. With Moe graduating and Bland not playing this last season, Eaton had the perfect opportunity to step up giving the gaps and he shined.

Like movie said, I'm not in the practices to see what's going on. I'm saying that I still have faith that Hawk is making the correct personnel choices at this point in time. If there were healthy guys available, but they still gave Gilliam the overwhelming percentage of the carries it had to have been because they thought it gave us the best chance at winning. I agree that having variability in the run game benefits the team. I think that all 3 of the incoming backs add their own personal wrinkle to the equation as well. Peyton is a stud, Ward looks like he can punish, and the coaches seem very high on Larison as a general athlete and not just the QB that he played in HS.

I have faith that the coaches are going to put the players on the field that give us the best opportunity to win games. I have a hard time seeing a bunch of the other guys getting many snaps with Gilliam and Thomas on the roster unless we end up with more injuries (knock on wood) or we're beating up on a team.
  • 2020 Recruiting List
From what I read his injury took place before this last season even started. If that's the case, with proper rehab, he should be good to go.
  • 2020 Recruiting List
Agreed, big time addition for the roster. I expect Gilliam to still be the workhorse, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dixon took some snaps.

Ambagtsheer signed during the December signing period, so we're in the clear for now. I agree with the sentiment though. I'm not sure how we landed this kid. He's a legit Pac-12 caliber player.

I couldn't find much on him either.
