• Quarterfinals Week 16: UC Davis (11-2) @ South Dakota (10-2)
So…I just checked into my hotel in Grand Island, Ne and there is a buffalo wildwings in the parking lot. The place is packed with Nebraska fans watching woman’s volleyball- Nebraska vs Dayton. Not me. I’m focused on the Pittsburg vs Lincoln 1-AA CIF game. Televised by Spectrum Sportsnet. Seriously! In Nebraska. California high school football. Tied up 7-7 in the second. This game may get a higher rating than our Aggies on ESPN+
  • Quarterfinals Week 16: UC Davis (11-2) @ South Dakota (10-2)
I’m pulling the trigger. 6 hour road trip from Denver to Grand Island, NE tomorrrow afternoon. Then a 3 hr drive Saturday morning to Vermillion. Let’s goooo!
  • Quarterfinals Week 16: UC Davis (11-2) @ South Dakota (10-2)
For having to go on the road, I’ll take the dome. At least we won’t be disadvantaged by the weather. We’ll have a full playbook. Reading the USD fan board, they expect to make a lot of noise. Certainly a challenge for us but I am liking the fact we played at Montana and faced some adversity with the noise. Our O recovered well and played great in the second half. Really cleaned up the false starts. I’m optimistic that are more prepared on that front.
  • Rd.2 PLAYOFFS Week 15: UC Davis vs. Illinois State
If I’m interpreting this right, if SEMO wins they will be without their top cover corner next week….

In NCAA football, spitting on an opponent is considered a flagrant unsportsmanlike conduct violation that results in ejection from the game and at least one additional game
  • Best of Thanksgiving
Hmmm. Our 15 year old has been mastering her baking skills. Her pecan pie and whipped cream cream was worth the wait.

Happy Thanksgiving Aggie fans. Enjoy the games this week.
  • Texas Rangers name Ross Fenstermaker general manager
Another Aggie…Dan Feinstein is the Assitant GM with the A’s. Oversees the international scouting side amongst other responsibilities. Tried out for the Ags in the early 90’s but did not make the cut. Great guy.
  • 2024 Week 12: #2 Montana State (10-0) @ #4 UC Davis (9-1)
+/- 680 mile road trip from Bozeman to see the Broncos or Seahawks play. For convenience, I’d recommend Calgary, a pleasant 500 mile drive to see Jake Maier. Just sayin….

    Go Ags!
  • Pac-12 set to add Boise, 3 other MW schools
I’m a 70s/80s kid and sporting green fan. While I don’t recall many Davis references I would not be shocked that we had coverage. SF is a small town (it really is) and the Chronicle likely appreciated Coach Sochors SF roots (Washington HS…rival of Lincoln- a plug for my dad’s Alma mater) and playing time at SF State. The Gators had a great program back in the day led by coaches Verducci and Rowan. Lots of pride here… to think Andy Reid, Mike Holmgrem were part of the coaching tree is impressive.

Speaking Tight Ends….what is the status of Ian Simpson? He contributed last year but I have not seen him suit up this year. Injury?
  • 2024 Big Sky Scores
Momentum shift. NAU intercepts Sac. Ball on 23. First play from scrimmage, NAU TD. Jacks up 27-9. 7:13 in the third. Go Jacks.
  • 2024 Big Sky Scores
20 yard scoop and score for the lumberjacks.

NAU 20. Sac 9 7:29 remaining in the third.
  • 2024 Big Sky Scores
Montanas D is very aggressive. Our WR’s are goi g to have to deal with playing through holding. Montanas LB just got ejected for targeting. Helmet shot to the QB’s chinstrap. Western Carolina just cut the lead to to 35-38. Should be tied. WC missed a short field goal.
  • 2023 Season Preview
Geordie Aarsheim was another player who was on our roster as a linebacker. Never saw the field. Assuming he’s still a student but playing days seem to be behind d him.
  • 2023 Season Preview
Nice to see another Marin Catholic Wildcat join the squad. Versatile player and nose for the ball in the secondary. He walked on at Iowa…Spencer Petras has been the starting QB there. Being a Marin Catholic kid, he helped influence Gaven’s to enjoy some corn fields. Random trivia…family lineage to legendary Redskins owner, Jack Kent Cook.
  • 2023 Season Preview
I noticed Casey Granfors was not on the roster. Is he still a part of the program. Big target.
  • 2023 Football Recruiting
I like to see this trend of West Catholic Athletic League players joining the Aggies. One the strongest leagues in the state with a strong academic reputation and discipline. These players, coaches and families know the academic reputation of Davis. Davis is such a good fit Gologoski from Serra will join Teddye Buchanan from St Ignatious, Kavir Bains from Valor Christian, and Clayton Lynman from St Francis on the defensive side of the ball. Should be some entertaining smack talk amongst them…and a level of accountability and competition that will raise their games. Go Ags!
  • 2022 FCS Playoffs
The AD may not have time to serve while trying to find a new head coach…

    McCaffrey was fired this afternoon.
  • Week 9: Cal Poly (1-6) @ UC Davis (3-4) Battle for the Golden Horseshoe
Really appreciate this board. Long time observer but never posted. I lived in SF for many years before moving to Colorado. I missed seeing him play but feedback from my buddies that saw him weekly that he may well have been a PAC 12 player if he solely focused on D. Also had a solid reputation in the classroom and as a classmate….at a very distinguished Jesuit high school. No surprise seeing him as a young captain.
