I really hope Dr. Blue thinking is to hire a football version of himself! Young, aggressive, ambitious, organized! These re-re-retreads that keep getting mentioned on this board scare me! That's the wrong way for this program to go!

To me the recent culture needs to change in a big way! Additionally, too much time has past to find a coach with "the Davis way" credentials.
Right now (next year) we need to start winning, period. The coach that can bring that fire is the coach we need hire.

Coach Daft ran the offense & called the plays.

I was just tossing a long shot name for thoughts! His connection to Dr. Blue is the main reason. Same school, same age, both seem ambitious, ect

I know ZERO about this young man other than from reading his full resume. He's moved from position to position as a coach. (Like he's grooming himself to advance) Wth Sumlin being only 44, the only way to move up is to move on. He's a Stanford kid, the scholar/athlete thing, he gets! About the same age as his fellow Stanford alum Dr. Blue!.....just sayin

His experience at Stanford (excellence in athletics & academics) will serve him well in finding a coach that can straddle all the issues with u.c.d football.
